well why don't yer all fc uk off to swillborough.... pigs the lot of yer.

I'm not havin a bad word said about Mr McCabe..... yer all banned.

Now any body know how much it is for a stall at the BDTBL car boot sale ? mind i want a prime spot reight in front of the goal at the kop end.

My only question in all this: Why were the reserves shipped out to Worksop, then onto Sheffield FC? We were told it was to protect the pitch.

Autumn - Would you have any examples of ways in which money is being wasted? I'm not so much asking about any inputs we might have in overseas clubs (unclear if this is an actual drain on the club or not - see Puppet's thread) - or about speculative schemes such as office blocks or gyms that may raise funds at some point - - but do we have goldfish costing us £10,000 a week or other riduclous wastes like that that you suspect?

I'm trying to find out what I can legally say and show, but if people want paying back, even if they aren't due to be....they come first...investment wise i mean. Which makes me feel like asking why invest in the first place, but hey ho.

Talking to an Eagles fan at work, he reckons that they do not do much damage to the pitch - in fact football creates more problems. I've no idea how true this is, but he usually knows what he is talking about.
Of course the main problem recently at Don Valley was the U2 concert as has been said previously.

Yep, I've heard this said many times. Rugby is played on top of the ground and bodies don't do anything like the damage that sliding tackles and kicking through the ball do.

You only need to see the ground staff replacing divots at half time during football matches to see the damage that they do to the pitch.

At the rugby the kickers now use plastic tees and damage to the pitch is minimal although the extra use and wear and tear will have some effect, but nothing like as damaging as football.

Having absolutely no knowledge of anything groundsman related, I bow your greater knowledge and accept football is more damaging than rugby. However I think the point is additional rugby on top of the football that is already played on the pitch will mean it will be in a much worse state for much more of the season.
As already said above (I think) its not like we use much of the surface anyway!
