Apologies if this has already been discussed, but just seen these two have been released by Fleetwood.

I might be being sentimental, but could they offer us something in midfield next season?

Let's face it, the bar hasn't been set high this season and we've lacked the creativity that they certainly gave us previously.

Would certainly suggest we give them a trial and use of our fantastic training facilities to get fit over the summer and see what happens.

And definitely should have a testimonial friendly match of sorts in front of fans to cheer them off.

Perhaps against a local league one team?

Sorry, I forgot we have to buy 'big name' multi-million pound players these days because that brings guaranteed success...

Have you watched them lately?

Poor old Couttsy obviously not the player he was considering the injury and got loaned out to Salford, and Duffy looks twice the size he was when he played for us. He's got chunky.

Not saying we have to buy expensive players, but that doesn't mean we should get free ones for sentimental reasons.

Also, both relied on Wilder really, he's not here anymore.

If we start signing players deemed not good enough for L1 clubs then we might as well pack it in.

If they are bringing back the legends soccer six tournament then they might have a chance.

It’s not about big names mate, love your sentiments but they have been deemed not good enough by L1 mid table Fleetwood

I hope we can replace the potential outgoing of an international player to Arsenal in Berge for circa £30m with something a bit stronger than Fleetwood cast offs

The one thing our midfield even at its best lacks is pace,
young top end Prem loans, in the way Mount, Wilson etc dropped down in the last few years would be the way forward

Broke my heart when Coutts came back from his broken leg and was utter dog shit..

Shows how sliding doors moments can change people's lives. One minute your the best midfielder in the division, the next minute your leg is snapped and your career is as good as over...

Would love to have peak Coutts and bouncing day Duffy back, but nostalgia is for watching on video

As a fan base do we have more of an obsession than other clubs in terms of bringing ex players back?

I remember a clamour to sign Michael Brown every time he moved clubs (including when he left Port Vale).

The only player who was any good after we brought him back was Brian Deane (2nd time around). You could include Peschisolido as well although it was only a few months between his loan spell ending and signing him permanently.
