DCL is nowhere near ready for England. He is only suited to an impact sub at Everton, and even then has only scored two leage goals for them. It just goes to show to lack of quality though for England up top. We're covered in other areas but after Kane and Vardy it gets very lacking. I would have thought a recall for Andy Carrol would be preferable to DCL called up.

He did s pre a world cup winning goal though and if players from the successful England youth teams aren't considered for a call up Southgate will get castigated

Out of Interest ,how fo people think he woukd do for us if we wrre to loan him BACK for the second half of the season ?

I'm not sure he would be any better than what we've got but he does show glimpses of quality in front of goal

He's not as a good a forward as Leon, but DCL is athletic, fast and hard working, and crucially young, so he can improve. Moving to Everton seemed a step to far to me, but it seemed Wilder was happy to take the cash and use it elsewhere. It all worked for everyone in the end.

Yeah Everton fans don't seem to enamoured with him but outsiders seem to rate him highly
The Everton fans I speak to seem to give him a pass as far as his effect on games because of his work rate and desire

Plus they are really lacking pace all over the pitch so most want him in the team for that some reason
I think they will sign a couple of pacy strikers in January so he will be out in the cold so to speak and I wondered if he might find his way back here but like i say i cant make my mind up about him Nd i guess that says it all

The Norwich keeper? We’ve got two Keepers that are better than him.[/QUOTE

It seems to me that national teams are selecting young lads on potential rather than risk losing them to another national team, for whom they might qualify. As has been the case with Brooks and Wales.
Give them a game in a meaningless fixture and they’re international future is secured. If they turn out to be world beaters, then great, if they don’t, nothing lost.

Brooks has shown glimpses of being a great player, but It would be hard to make a case that the few appearances for Utd have warranted a full international call up, were it not to tie his future to the Welsh.

Sod it. I'll oblige...

The frocks my missus buys don't look anything like that! :(

Hope the fee is massive?

Fee Everton paid for him was relatively fk all, so hopefully we get a fair owd wedge?
Also a similar article in the Athletic. I seem to recall the sell-on clause being 15%. He’s been injury prone and is in the final year of his contract which will unfortunately reduce his value. A few years ago he would have been £40m+.

Hope the owners don't see his manskirt shoots...
Just imagine IF we get new owners and they see the likes of DCL, Walker, Maguire, going away for nowt only for us to pick up crumbs from sell on clause when they go for massive fees.

On then off again. Reported 37m and we have a 20% sell on clause so a nice little earner. However Everton will probably buy Ndiaye with the money 😩

He's not worth £40m, decent player when fit, but 68 goals in 8 years isn't great
