Does anyone really believe Brooks is worth 10mill+?

No. Not yet. In two years time he will be a bit part player with us having failed to fulfil his potential and will be the only serious contender as third striker. Then again perhaps he will have chilled and learnt to accommodate his skill and he will be running it like Deli Ali. More likely he will be sacrificed for more practical team building (for which I do not criticise Wilder) and we will be treating him like DCL with respect and hope, or like JET with derision and hatred (well from me anyway).

He falls to easy. Hope his hero was not From Liverpool. When he gets that sorted out. Then.

This is a similar thread to the Calvert-Lewin one from a couple of years back, after his miss v Crewe.

Wonder what happened to him.........

Yes he is worth at least £10 million. The washing machine went for 6+ so yes Brooks is worth 10m +.

If you want to criticise him that's any fans prerogative but I do question what some fans see when they watch our games.

As for glandular fever - a mate of mine at uni who was an athlete was ruled out for a whole season of training due to it so the fact Brooks makes any minutes on the pitch at all is a minor miracle. Those saying it's 'only glandular fever' behave yourselves.

I think some, like myself, aren't putting his poor decision making at times to him not being any good or overhyped but his age and relative inexperience at this level. As for the only glandular fever comments, you can bet they whine "man flu" fist sign of a sniffle.

The lad is one of, if not the best player in terms of ability on the ball that we have at the club. Yes he's lightweight, yes he makes the wrong decisions sometimes, but for me whenever I've seen him play he is looking to make something happen and eager for the ball.

He was clearly told to get the ball and run at them on Saturday, which he did. The best thing that can happen is for him to stay here and have a full season at least with us next year, as the main man in attack, because he clearly needs games. Whether that will happen or not who knows but to write him off is ridiculous.

Who has written him off?

I've had gladular fever twice, it really knocks you off your feet. You don't just get better, the virus can stay in your body for 12 months so you can having slight relapses. I appreciate Brooks will be getting much better medical care and monitoring than any of us would. I'm surprised to see how much he's played recently.

Add that to the fact he's not had a massive amount of Championship experience and not had a run of full games I think people should lower their expectations a little, same with how good we are doing as a team

His goal aside on Tuesday he didn't really offer much and it was just that, Burton Albion.

Came on today and you could've mistaken him for someone else and thought he was still on the bench. Apart from making Jack Hunt look a you know what, he's not really been amazing in my opinion.

Do well to get a decent fee for him. Next Diego? Maybe.

I don't suppose you were around when Tony Currie played for us at the age of 18, and of course, football forums on the web weren't invented then, but I bet if you trace your family tree back far enough, you'll find a letter to "In off the post" or "Tell it to Tony" at the Green 'Un, from one of your relatives, telling Tony Pritchett that this young lad Currie was nothing special.

Mate...you can either spot outstanding talent or you can't. You obviously can't. I don't mean that disrespectfully btw - but this isn't actually about personal opinions, it's about looking at a player and seeing the talent that oozes out from him. To some it's clear as day, to others it's not.

I've been watching for about 50 years. In that time I've seen maybe half a dozen really exceptional players come through the ranks. Brooks is one of them. Believe me. He'll be gone next summer so enjoy him whilst you can. Because he's one that you'll add to your list of "great players" when you are reminiscing in the pub in 20 years time about the team United could have had, if they'd kept hold of their best players.

The fee is based on his potential.......

Worth a punt to teams who had money to burn.

Your spot on about his ability Cerberus and if we are right he will be sold at some point ,it's the wages that the top clubs can offer. Can't see him going so quickly unless Wilders hand is forced.Hopfully he will be here next season whether championship or premiership

Agreed, time to cash in and accept the first offer we get.
