Do we stand a chance at Fulham?

We have been done 1-0 late on too many times .Karma is whispering a reversal in fortunes to me

Like to think CW was at Derby yesterday, plotting ways of bringing them down to earth.
Despite a slow start, I always thought they had the class to win the league, and still might. But after the Hull debacle I don’t think our standards will drop that low again this season. So they will be also be concerned about meeting us too.

Fuck me there’s some reight nesh fuckers on here
Someone ring up the club and tell Chris not to bother turning up as where going to get a fucking hiding .
We’ll go down there and give it a go , we win we win , we lose we lose ,
All I ask is we give it a good go and leave it all on the pitch ,
Then you won’t hear any complaints from me ,
Yes Fulham are a good team , but so are we.
It was there players falling to the floor at the Lane after we’d run them into the ground .
It’s Fulham away , not fucking Barcelona
We do our job right and we’ve got every chance of a good result

Depends on the team selection and formation. If we play the same line up we did against Hull we'll get a fucking good hiding, and rightly so.

If there was ever a game where we should play with a back four and a sweeper in front, then it's this one. That would allow us to play both Duffy and Holmes in midfield along with two others and a lone striker and I believe that this scenario would not only make us more difficult to break down but also give them a lot more to think about at the other end of the pitch.

As others have pointed out, they're not Man City but if we allow them to play to their strengths we could make them look like they are, as we did at the Lane.

I may be amongst the few here but I think we can cause a surprise to them.

Losing 5-4 was a freak result. We won’t have a young centre half who undermines our good start and is at fault for three goals.

Sessignan will not have all his own way against Baldock’s pace either. Let’s see if he likes defending as much as attacking.

Billy seems on form and if Clarke fails to make it, then we have options. Donaldson has done very well away from home and Brooks or Holmes could provide a different challenge. Who knows, maybe Wilson comes in and backs his confidence with action.

Fleck has to win his battle vs Cairney and Stearman and O’Connell must marshall Mitrovic but they are not invincible. They got quite lucky at the Lane.

As a second line of defence I’d consider Leonard for Basham. The former is very quick and would help Baldock if Target and Sessignan both get forward.

A good rest behind us, people writing us off. Ideal opportunity to shut them up and send a message. A very Wilder like situation.

The 5-4 loss was down to CCV naievity .3 of their 5 were wholly avoidable. Once again some blades able to see in other teams they can't see in their own team. When will some learn if we play as we didrecently at Reading and norwich Ipswich Leeds and S6 and others we are pretty decent too

Whatever the tub thumpers and sabre rattlers say, we are 4/1 To win a game of football against a team just a few places and points higher. There is a reason for that, and the bookies aren't stupid. Make no mistake we need to be on our A game or we will lose.
As it happens I have high hopes that we will take our best game and come away with something, but please, no insults to the Blades who are a bit worried about this game, it's natural, given the circumstances.

We didn't lose to Hull because of team selection or formation, it was down to several players unable to do the basics on the same evening.

What's the betting that he drops Duffy again and plays the flat 3 across the midfield?

Less than 4/1 i would suggest.

I think CW's probably learned that lesson. If he hasn't then the questioning of his tenure will start to creep in as our season will be just about finished.

There are other factors such as Duffy's age/ fitness levels/niggling injuries...do we play the bloke until he drops?
Maybe we should...

Duffy is on record as saying it’s the fittest he’s ever been, no need to drop one of our most important players in our most important game of the season so far.

I'm sure he is and I'm sure he'll play tomorrow...still, many footballers often 'carry niggling injuries' through the season and need rest and recuperation to maintain those levels/fitness, especially as they get older...

Like with Billy, Duffy's levels were dropping off a bit.

It'll be a tough ask, and will be a good bench mark as to where we currently are against arguably the 2nd best team in the division and the form team over the last 15 games (36 points out of 45). Having seen the majority of games this season, the home game v. Fulham was the only time I thought we have been overrun by anyone. I appreciate that we gifted them goals, but I thought that they were a lot better than us on the night. I think that they are generally a very good side from front to back, but have a couple of stars that elevate them. I'd happily take a draw now, and I fear that we'll have to score twice to get a draw on the night. With this in mind, I would say that the 15/8 and 13/8 currently available for Sessegnon and Mitrović as anytime scorers is extremely charitable, as both are bang in form and at least a class above the division they are playing in.

Fulham's 'Pre-Match View' from the November game was very similar to this thread. They all thought they would get smashed......

Think I will be putting a few bob on a Blades win tomorrow night. Tough match... but I fancy a Blades win. Think we will be well up for it.
