The reason I ask is based on the away crowd last night. I was astounded by how many kids under the age of even 14 were at Middlesbrough last night. Is it half term? I assume it was minimum 1am before anyone got back home?

I work in a school in Bristol and last week a lad in my class proudly announced that he got to bed at gone midnight the night before, after watching wwe wrestling in Cardiff.
Likewise, I’m sure the blades fans went to school but were useless all day, much like the lad in my class was.

I took a couple of 12 year olds with me , my son and his best mate. Got back for half midnight, both kids had a good night and was both back at school this morning. So your issue is?

When I was at school there was a kid who hadn't missed a game, home or away for pretty much ever

I worked with a bloke from Stocksbridge who hadn't missed an Arsenal game, home or away since the 70s. His son went with him and had since a very young age. Included European games

Where I work, there's an Arsenal supporting father and son, ST holders I think, they too went everywhere following them. Will have to try and remember his name.

There’s also a fella who works in the same building as me that follows Arsenal all over the place. The father and son thing rings a bell too. I’m not sure of his name either.

I remember going to a night game in London , Brentford away , due to an incident outside the ground we were held back by the police
6 in the morning before I got back into Sheffield then off to school first thing
Did fuckall all day though
We were talking about that game on Tuesday before the match ,when the guy died and the cops suspected foul play and it was a heart attack wasnt it.

My Dad took me out of school for a ‘Dental’ appointment when we played away at Portsmouth on a (I think) Monday night in 02/03. They were top of the league and we turned them over 2-1.

We went on the coach which was unusual for us, and after we hit Oxford the driver decided to race down there like a maniac and got us there for about 4.30. With nothing to do we decided to watch team coach arrive, little did I know they shower that footage when the coverage started on Sky and half the kids and teachers saw me.

Had to start using the Doctors as an excuse after that…

They're being kept woke by their parents.

Don't suppose it's an office down near Irwin Mitchell is it?

The issue is the lack of adequate sleep, but if it is just the odd evening away day each season I would keep taking them, it is part of their “wider education “ and a good experience.

Are you sure they were under-14, and it’s not just that you are getting more ‘mature in years’? The average 25-year-old looks to me as if they are doing GCSE’s, and it’s getting harder to tell whether those with bus-passes are sixth-formers or youthful-looking OAP’s!

I regularly carry ID as people don't just don't believe how old I am. Till I open my gob that is, then they believe it.

When I was 10, a Wednesday-supporting classmate was hauled out in front of the entire school and bollocked for going to an F.A. Cup replay at Old Trafford with his father, a match which Wednesday fluked 2-7….

I was put in detention because I was laughing hysterically…
