Sheffield United is advising fans intent on causing disorder at this weekend's Sky Bet League One fixture v Bradford City at Bramall Lane that disruptive or anti-social behaviour will not be tolerated.

The teams take to the pitch at 3pm and fans should expect to see a significant police presence in and around the ground in a bid to deliver an enjoyable and safe environment for all.

Any anti-social behaviour, drunk and disorderly conduct or violent disorder will be policed, swiftly and robustly. More than 20,000 supporters are expected to attend the game on Saturday, with around 2,500 Bradford City fans predicted to arrive in Sheffield.

So expect SYPD to blow the budget on helicopters, 'peace walls' etc. in this game that is showing no signs of being 'high risk' whatsover. (Until the cops let 2,500 Bradford fans straight out onto Bramall Lane at the final whistle...:rolleyes:)

An interesting little contradiction of terms, ff a day trip to the Dingles anything to go by. But such is the response required when we have half-wits amongst us I guess. Nice bit of overtime though.

Agree. This sort of thing goes without saying unless I've missed other statements from the club in the past which say "Bring your knives and knuckledusters for a 10% discount"

Poor customer service from the club. Whilst crushing the hopes of those who hoped to have a bit of disorder, they offer no credible alternative or links to where disorder can be had.

Will the disorder in our back 4 be robustly policed or will James 'shelf stacker' Hanson be free to head in as many crosses, corners and free kicks as he likes?

How rude of the club and South Yorkshire Police !!
I was planning on travelling up to Sheffield this evening with the sole intention of creating some disorder and anti-social behaviour tomorrow with the 2,500 expected Bradford fans. Should that not have worked, I was hoping to cause mass chaos and riots amongst our own fans as a credible alternative.

May I remind the Club and SYP that the two teams take to the pitch at approximately 2.55pm in order to pointlessly line up and shake hands with each other before the kick off at 3.00pm.

As this is the second such notice in three weeks, may I also ask SUFC and the Police to stop broadcasting patronising and condescending bollocks on the Club's website and also not to treat an anticipated 22,500 football supporters, like they're a bunch of fuckin ten year olds.

While I agree with the principles of your posts, and no those messages should not be necessary - the simple fact that nobheads think it's alright to start lobbing flares around give SYP an easy excuse to do all this. It doesn't take much for them to "justify" the heavy-handed presence - the flares just play into their hands.
Until these dickheads are removed from the equation (nobhead fans that is, not SYP :)), things will continue.

but will any of these nob heads not turn up or not bring their flairs just because they read that message?

Just seems like a complete waste of time and effort to put something like that statement out, surely it shows that we can cut the money to the police as they obvuiously have a PR person with not much to do

In reality, no, of course not - but I'm not sure what else the Club itself could do ahead of the game? If SYP asked them to put a message out to fans, I'm not sure they'd exactly want to say "nah, no-one will take any notice lol" - won't help relations.

They could do pat-down searches of all fans entering but how long would that take to get everyone in? Would probably also increase the Club's stewarding costs as I'd imagine they'd need to employ one for each turnstile. I think the Club are stuck between a rock and a hard place while-ever these dickheads are about.

im more bothered about the poilice wasting time rather than the club as we keep getting told they are under resoursed.

But talking about wasting time, I got searched on the way in for the first time the other week, the steward took great care in confirming that all my pockets were full of unknown things and I had a big bulge at the end of my arm under my sleeve. I just told him it was a pot (which it actualy was) and he just let me in without checking. What is the point of searches if your not going to check what all these items in my pockets actually are? I could have had bombs knives and a pistol up my sleeve but they would have still let me in. Im not arguing for more searches, far from it but I just dont see the point of doing them half arsed like they do
 
When did it last "all kick off" at a Blades match? I honestly can't remember. They might as well issue a press release reminding fans there can be no nudity, hard drugs or kiddy-fiddling at the game

It it's flares they're bothered about, they should say that.

Disorder will not be tolerated in local derby - thought this was NC's team talk to our back 4 ahead of the game tomorrow!

Hm, given that there are 20,000 Sheffielders gathered in one place three or four times each month I'd be very surprised if there were no incidents at all. I'm sure there's far more trouble on West St on Fridays and Saturdays

Oh, I don't deny that.

But apparently a handful of supporters have been banned in recent weeks for their conduct at the Lane so some supporters evidently do need reminding of how they are expected to behave in public.

If people are offended at being treated like fucking idiots, blame the ones who are acting like fucking idiots in the first place.
