The PFA is running courses for players to become sporting directors once they've retired. Obviously none of these woke roles will ever make it into Bramall Lane

Ex Blade Aymen Tahar was on and passed that course.

He also has his own Football Agency and seems to be doing really well with that. Very bright young man.

I can't see how we move forward without a Director of Football. There is no-one on the board with any football knowledge, so a much diminished Wilder is left to run the football side of the club without any challenge, despite the fact that he isn't (by his own admission) a coach, his recruitment policy is bizarre at best and team selections and tactics leave us all scratching our heads in bewilderment. Every team we play appears to have a better shape and structure than we do - our team is somehow much less than the sum of its parts.
It feels like we are in a death spiral of decline with no-one capable of changing the club's direction. Someone at Board level needs to grasp the nettle - provide Wilder with useful counsel and oversee the complete overhaul of our abysmally failing scouting/recruitment and fitness/conditioning departments. There is also the issue of overseeing the Academy and the long term aim of getting it to Cat 1 status.
This is a huge job and there is no-one on the current Board remotely qualified to do it.

Is it such a bad idea?
Extra cost on club, are they proving effective at other clubs. How do they divide there role with the manager or coach?
The coach does the coaching. The DoF does the other stuff that allows the coach to do their job.
