Aye, well fuck what Wilder wants. I think most fans want to see a modern club. That’s probably what Wilder doesn’t want
When? A DOF typically means he’d be a head coach, which he wouldn’t want to work as. He wants full rein.Wilder has publicly said he has no problem working with a Director of Football.

Key point there is “how I see a football club running”On working with a Director of Football:
"I work within a group and a structure. Ultimately, I have to be comfortable with players I am working with. Every manager will say that. But I am flexible, too. As long as we have a shared plan and strategy I am totally fine with it."
On demanding full rein:
“I know there is a lot of talk about me wanting to absolutely run everything. Well, that is absolute nonsense. I just want to work with good people who have the same vision and ideas and that’s how I see a football club running."
That has never been Wilders issue.Wilder has publicly said he has no problem working with a Director of Football.

HE wants to appoint and direct the DOF in other words.

In other words, yeah, I'll work with a DoF, as long as they agree with me.
I struggle to see how our owners saw how much better we were than Bristol city in the semis and say I want some of that!Tinnion’s got a decent write up from Bristol City fans TBF.
Bit of a leap between lines of thinking thereI struggle to see how our owners saw how much better we were than Bristol city in the semis and say I want some of that!

Combine that with the Bristol city fans views! I was reading them thinking well at least they made the play offs but the gulf was pretty huge let's be fair!Bit of a leap between lines of thinking there
He worked with a Sporting Director at Watford.Wilder has publicly said he has no problem working with a Director of Football.
Didn't sign any players thoughHe worked with a Sporting Director at Watford.
You want to put him in charge of signings?!FWIW, could CW actually become the DoF?
Blank spaceJust seen what?
No. Absolutely not. That needs a specialist team, with deep data and plenty of eyes on experience. But as the person who shapes the style, value, tone, is the media face of the club, shapes the footballing strategic overview for the club. I dunno, just a thought. You want to put him in charge of signings?!
