Direct Free Kicks

I've just seen Atsu's goal for Newcastle last night,one of many similar scored by various teams this season apart from us.As we have more than our fair share of quality technical players why is this our achilles heel,is it that we just don't get awarded free kicks in these areas or are we poor at executing this skill ? If we are poor why can't we improve and who would be the best of our current squad to develop this important technique.I know in this division Ricky Holmes is excellent,it must be worth a good few extra points over a season.

Yep, I'd noticed that. It would help if we could get someone who can score from free kicks, a long thrower would also be a bonus.

Fleck should start practicing free kicks a lot. He's got the technique and power for it, and it could add him 2/3 goals a season.

Part of the reason for bringing in Hussey may have been for his freekick abilities. Unfortunately his defending just wasn't good enough to warrant a place in the squad.

Gallagher is a player, Grayson has got him firing the last 2 seasons. No reason Chris and Alan couldnt do the same. He was average last time but things change.

Grayson is like marmite, but you have to give the fella respect for what he has done at a few clubs with promotions.

Gallagher is probably not good enough at Champ level.

Our direct free kicks are an embarrasment - is there no one who wants to stay behind like Beckham did and get better at the job.

Borbokis was class - made it look easy - we must have someone in the club who can.

He's extremely slow and at the wrong end of the age spectrum. He's also been well paid throughout his career so wouldn't come cheap. He epitomises a "journeyman" to me.
