Lots of talk about who's fault things are and who should do what about it via multiple threads.

We all joke about and threaten a shoes of in the car park, erecting ironic statues and using social media all TBH to no effect.

I've got to express my admiration for the stance of 10,000+ Liverpool supporters who walked out of the game they were winning 2-0 on the 77th in protest at the £77 seat ticket next season. They went on to squander the 2-0 lead to draw 2-2 further pounding home their protest.

That has provoked very submissive social media messages from senior club officiacals and no doubt caused a discussion to appease the fans concerns.

Those fans have demonstrated to those creating the ever increasing greed of football clubs and it's exploitation of the paying fan that there is a method of putting your point across forcefully and peacefully.

Well done, could this be the start of a fan revolution?

If you want to protest Blades this is how it's done.

I agree - something needs to happen to show the disgust at how the club is being run - and I fully support the Liverpool fans - it doesnt make them less of a fan for doing that (as I suspect that accusation will be level at them by other fans who stayed).

Do you think any club is bothered about there supporters especially in the premier league. The clubs revenue does not revolve around gate receipts and season ticket sales . As with SUFC in league 1 , fans are just a irritation to the board.

We do at SUFC rely on fans money , in low league 1 , but still get treated with contempt. As they say , what do us fans know about the game of football and the finances required to run it.

But it's NOT! Imagine if yesterday, it was 0-0, a load of fans walk out and Wigan end up winnng 2-0? The blame would be pointed at the fans (aided and abetted by the supine local media). Keep attending. Make other teams (and Wendy) spew when they open their Sunday papers and look at our crowds. Not long till May and there must be no excuse for the guity parties - board, players and manager - to blame the magnificent fans.

Managers and players keep telling fans how important it is to get behind their team. Was it coincidence that Liverpool lost a 2 goal lead in a game they were dominating as the fans walked out?

Do you honestly believe any pig fan gets upset at our attendances? Win = points and I along with 20,000 other blades would trade place right now and throw their granny in for good measure.

They know how the supporters feel but appear to have no willingness to address the issues. What is perhaps more galling is the utter contempt with which they treat the fans. Do they really think we are as stupid as the suppose? ( I may well be and couldn't possibly comment on my 18,000 fellow supporters who attended yesterday)

I am at the stage where I would support a season ticket holder walk out at the next game and I have never left a game early.
Bloke next to me said he had his season ticket reminder yesterday to rub salt in the wounds. I've not had one yet but the timing is both ironic and bad timing.

How much do we think attendances will drop by next season (assuming the obvious and we don't go up)?!

I really cannot see above 15k....

14-16k and it would be 14-16k more than McCabe deserves. I've never really slated the board but I've had enough and want McCabe out (it won't happen). He's a cancer on this club which is dying a slow and painful death.

Car park protest. The media would then take note and the board can't keep on hiding when they like it as the media will finally take notice.

To be fair to the liverpool fans most of them have got long commutes involving air travel and long train journeys so maybe they should do that every week

To be fair I think it was more down to Mignolet deciding to give up at around the same time.

We've done the car park protest before and it just looked like a bunch of nobs Who had a trip down after signing on.

I think a fan walk out at half time would have the best effect if that's what you want to do,'or best yet don't renew

At least we would all know what William Henry Foulkes looks like then

It's a nice idea, but I would suggest that a mid table long established third division side it not worthy of any media attention, other than very local media. If you aren't in the Premier League no one gives a flying fig. What worse is the board know that.

We could follow the lead of the Liverpool fans and have a walkout. But when? I suspect if we picked the 89th minute, as we were founded in 1889, many of the crowd would be long gone by then.

I don't really think that any walkout would influence McCabe, the prince, Jim Phipps or anyone else on the board. McCabe doesn't give a shit as long as he's making money, the prince is too busy with whatever his "job" as Saudi General Minister for Youth Welfare entails, Jim Phipps is enthusiastic but about as effective as a fart in a wind tunnel, and the rest of the board seem to be mainly local businessmen who have no grounding in football whatsoever, with the exception of Dave McCarthy.

We have been fucked over since the relegation from the Premier League, almost nine years ago, and it could be easily argued that we've been getting a good tupping from our owners since long before that. The club has been run ineptly by most, Derek Dooley aside, and it doesn't look like much is going to change in the near future. Do I like this? No, I bloody well don't. I also don't have a cure-all answer to the problem, although I wish that I had.

The "game-changing" investment hasn't reaped much in the way of any reward. Sure, Jim Phipps can argue that we've signed players, but have any of the signings since the prince paid his pound made a significant difference? All that has happened is that we have progressively become weaker, and I can't really see this changing. We have signed players that on the whole are simply average Division Three standard, with one or two possible exceptions, but even with the obvious stand-out candidates like Sharp most of the others signed have not shown enough to merit retaining them in the summer.

As much as we don't like it we are going to have to face up to facts. We have a manager shackled by an inept board, whose members do not have the necessary experience to run a football club. While enthusiasm and Twitter pictures of fans in new shirts is not a crime, our co-chairman Mr. Phipps has demonstrated that he's woefully out of touch with how most Sheffield United fans feel about the way we are heading. Next season could well be a relegation fight, and if it is then the board will feel the wrath of the supporters in ways they can't possibly comprehend right now.

It won't take much more of the dross we've been served up over the last few years before many more United fans are in open revolt. A walk out in protest will just be the beginning, and I must say that I will be one of those walking.

Put simply, I've had about enough of the way we are being run. No ambition despite statements to the contrary, no adequate replacement of players we've seen go, and a nice pat on the head now and again from a jovial American isn't enough, by a long, long way.

Every year or every preseason something happens to give me optimism.
I know I'm grasping at straws when getting Adidas had me excited for the new season.
I'm all for rebuilding in the summer but whether he gets the funding or not I'm not confident that Adkins will spend the money wisely!!

Most of our current songs are copied from other clubs, do we now have to copy Liverpool's walk out?

.....whether he gets the funding or not I'm not confident that Adkins will spend the money wisely!!

At least if he doesn't get any funding he can't piss it up the wall. Like you can't get shit-faced with three quid, you can't buy crap players with £7:55 and 356 Nectar Points.

To the board, the rewards for playing in the Championship simply don't match the investment they would need to make to
achieve and maintain Championship presence. They know we would never ever make the Premiership so it is just more (financially) comfortable to sit on their backsides and do nothing apart from rotate managers who promise to adhere to their frugality as per NA.

They are lacking in both motivation and money.

We have degenerated (since Warnock) into a mid ranking 3rd Division outfit and, regardless of the promises regurgitated by McCabe, Phipps and co., it is here where we are destined to stay.

Maybe a walk out is not the answer, turning your back, holding up 20,000 red cards or my favourite....

if it was to be a walk out then you would need to do it with 20/25 to go. I can't see people doing that if the team are winning or in with a chance of getting something from the game.

Instead of singing "we're shit and we know we are" just replace it with "sack the board."

As evidenced by my lack of being on here, this season has been more than a bit "meh" for me. I just can't get excited about what I'm witnessing, culminating in feeling a bit crap yesterday and being ensconced on the settee with the cats. Instead of dragging myself out in the rain, I decided to stay there. Hitherto an unthinkable decision but one I made without any shred of remorse.

I have pig fans at work pitying me and I don't have the energy with which to put up a fight. Bit like our first team.

I'll be honest. When I saw 'Balls Protest' on the title, I was expecting something, er.....different.
Now that would be some pretty direct action.
