Dingles Game Switched

Never used to bother me much, and I'm delighted the derby is a night game rather than midday (for purposes of atmoshpere) but Monday evenings just are not right for football.

To have 2 of the games I was really looking forward to on Monday evenings is sickening. Crowds affected and whole host of other reasons. I was really hopeful of another massive following to Barnsley as in last 2 seasons and we'll now be looking at 3,500 max in my opinion rather than the sensational 6k plus last term

Felt physically ill when I heard this news. For someone who lives in Barnsley and who is going on holiday on the 9th November it has come as a major blow.

Had a cracking day at last season's fixture and was looking forward to more of the same.

If I had Sky, I'd be cancelling my subscription. Wankers.

:bomb:

Anyone fancy watching it in the Sports Cafe at Center Parcs with me?

Yes, if you're paying!

A simple answer to this is, don't go away during the football season :)

I'm also severely peed off about this one. Why can't they announce the Fri/ Mon games at the start of the season when the fixtures come out! ! !

Its another game that i'll now have to miss.

Last season was great at the Dingle arena. Monday night games are sh*te

Our game against the Dingles has been moved from Saturday 7th of November to Monday 9th to be shown live on Sky. This follows our game against Newcastle the previous Monday, also on Sky.

Saturday football gets ever rarer for Blades fans.

I don't think so. Off the top of my head out of the weekend games, I can only think of Wednesday (A) and Preston (A PO) last year which wern't on a Saturday. Oh, and the Palace (A) game where it is tradition to be on a Sunday.

Interestingly in our Premiership season we didn't have a single game moved to the Sunday, except as above, the final game of the season.

It is very, very disappointing.

I said at the time, is the 6,200 we took to Barnsley likely to be one of the largest away followings for ever more in league football. It was a brilliant day out

Did slightly more follow us to Palace? Think so which shows how daft my comment was, but I like thinking about these things.

My point is that the circumstances all have to be there get away following of over 6k - namely huge away end, police compliance, big club with big support having a good season playing club with small support in a decent stadium

I can't think of many circumstances where any club will take more than 6k to a league game again in any division. I stress league game.

Perhaps Coventry could give 6k plus away tickets. Perhaps we could if ground is developed and police allow - but you need the visiting club to have the support and very few have.

I'm just glad it's not a game I've had to book the afternoon off for. I've got half a day's holiday left at work (Blackpool and Coventry already booked), so I'm hoping I don't need it for any of the re-arranged games.

Cooperblade which area of Barnsley do you live in, I'm Worsbrough area ?

For us exiled Blades, any televised game is a bonus. Still, I'd be pissed off if I lived in Sheff and planned to go.

I reckon we'll still take a fair few.
