Totally disagree...........End of.
Disagree with what bit? The facts re points? the nearer to auto relegation than auto promotion? The reducing of season tickets by 10%? The standard of football? ...... or just that the manager has been a disaster? Not only a disaster on the pitch by the way, but a PR disaster off it.

I think it was Ricky who summed it up the other week by saying "keeping Adkins is the least worst option"

That's about right I think, if we are jettisoning Adkins for that Titan of management Chris Wilder it's about time to give up.

We are 8 points outside the play offs and 18 points behind the top 2....in L1. We must have a different view on what reasonable means.

I agree ....... however, he's been denied a reasonable budget to address the long term, glaring deficiencies in our squad.

One signing who cost a modest fee ...... then told to move out dross before he can spend. Not an easy job with the squad full of crap that he inherited ......

When have Sharp, Hammond or Brayford not tried?

Don ;t get me wrong, I'm not saying he's the way forward but we need to give him time because we won't discover what can happen when a successful manager gets backing if we don't.

We sold Murphy. we've spent 500k.

He's signed:

Sharp - great
Woolford as a back up for Murphy for free and low wages
Hammond - agreed
Baptiste - quality if he remains fit
Edgar - better than what we had
Sammon - not his signing

He's also got rid of a stack of shit.

Do you really think he chose to spend hardly any money or his loan signing weren't shaped by desperation?

Somewhere along the line, we were always going to have to bite the bullet and "pay" for Clough's signings which were, at best, mediocre. Look at some of the guff we've been left with or Adkins has already given away, all going to bottom end League 1 (either done or at the end of the season) teams or below: Higdon, Campbell-Ryce, Wallace (J), Freeman, Harris, Alcock, Coutts, McEveley, McGahey, McNulty and, despite a promising start, Scougall. Getting rid of that little lot, plus the ones still to go like Baxter and Cuvelier, costs money (probably the Murphy money) and takes time. Sure, Clough got a couple of good ones in Adams, Brayford (minus injury problems) and maybe Basham but his strike rate with transfers was terrible. Whilst Adkins' team has disappointed me this season, somewhere along the line we need to accept that it's the squad of players that needs overhauling rather than the management team. This summer is a very interesting one - we're going to see what the board's true intentions are. Are they committed to youth with quality purchases to supplement that? Are they committed to being patient and developing the club's style rather than a kneejerk reaction? Are they going to do what is necessary to get the right balance in the squad that will be successful? Are they going to back Adkins and his management team? If they do, then Adkins has no excuses this time next year - we have to be promoted. I think we have to give Adkins time to do what is needed this summer and maybe even in January to start turning this ship around. Sacking the manager is the gamble option.

It's hard to underestimate the importance of long term planning. We have been doing so with the Academy but that seems to have slowly dropped off. I put much of that down to a succession of managers not being prepared to use youth players or give them a chance.

We've been in the top flight two times in my lifetime and the bottom division once.

We're never going to be a club who gets and stay in the top flight for a number of years unless we have a long term plan. Short-termism has led to us being a yo-yo or middling club at best. That's all it will ever achieve. In order to plan for the long-term it's likely that the short-term won't be great. Looking at Southampton. They languished at the bottom of the Championship/League 1 for a few years but continually invested heavily in their Academy. Initially, they ended up selling their youngsters and using the money to keep afloat but it has paid huge dividends. As has their extension scouting.

Investing in scouting and youth development is the future.

He's not been denied a reasonable budget though has he?

Compared to Wigan? Yes.

Compared to Burton, Walsall, Gillingham, Bradford, Millwall and Barnsley though?

None of those spent 500k in fees and brought in 6 signings all from established PL and Championship teams.

Darth, I find your lack of faith...disturbing!
