Based on what? I remember adkins been asked specifically about DDG recently and Adkins said something along the lines of "Diego needs to learn what it means to be a footballer" and said he wasnt injured.

Whether that meant generally or get over an injury I don't know.
Hope I'm wrong but let's be honest he just isn't going to make it and too many managers have not picked him for good reason.

He was working making fire doors at Jeld Wen a few years back according to my lad.

He packed in football, finishing his football career at Sheffield fc, at the end of last season. It's a shame because he had all the talent in the world but his Dad's passing away didn't help, he struggled after that.

I have been a big supporter of DDG as he certainly is a talent. However talent (whatever that is) only gets you so far. Getting your head down, working hard, putting in the hours and going the extra mile is what gets results. Lets hope he does just that.

Baxter should be playing in the prem now if hed got his head down , and not for snorting a line
DeGeralamo , if hed just put in a shift in training now and again could be a star

all the best players just work harder, practice more , and make sacrifices
but some think talent alone will get them what they want , but it wont

I've got a lot of sympathy for him if its his injury problems that has, and still is, holding him back. If not he's got to knuckle down and show a professional attitude and try to catch the manager's eye. Anybody who saw him regularly doesn't doubt the talent is there. Maybe a loan spell would do him good?

I'm sorry but alleged off field activities alone are not responsible for Baxter being a below average 3rd division player occasionally appearing in a below average 3 rd division team badly . He is a massively over rated player with exaggerated ability who has somehow built this myth up into being a technical genius among United fans still desperate to have a Tony Currie in our side. He is wank and we will be so better off without him. I have been saying this for over 2 years ago much to some people's annoyance but I got the measure of him ages ago. Good riddance to bad rubbish. Playing in the premier ha ha , northern premier if he can be bothered to get up

Probably your best post on here. Very truthful. I rated Diego quite highly, and if he'd have just given it that bit more of an effort, he'd be in the starting line up today no problem. Two players that fit in perfectly with your analogy are Diego himself and Louis Reed. The former's got the talent with a questionable at best attitude. Reed has the effort instead. The annoying thing about Diego is that footballing attitude can be controlled, you can't magic ability. Which is why having the good man manager he obviously hasn't had pays a lot of dividends.

Do you know what. Baxter being suspended gives a chance to someone else. It would be good to see someone with a bit of natural talent like DDG, Scougs or Cuvelier to take that chance.
