Didsy is Gold

Whilst it feels like going 'all in' at the Poker table, a front 3 of McGoldrick, Madine and Hogan has so many good attributes.

Madine is decent on the floor, holds the ball up and can occupy the centre halves physically. Hogan cost 12m. He's got good pace and movement and can finish.

I predict a high scoring win on Friday.

This could be one of those weird instances when something just clicks. A bit like when Tongey went left wing and we ended up with a sublime midfield of Tonge, McCall, Brown, Ndoovu.

It's the hope that kills you.

Themore I think back on the Leeds game, the less impressed I am with their methods.

They are good at pressing (or running about and closing down as it was called before people started getting technical).

Offensively, most of their play seemed to me to be diagonal balls pumped cross field all the time. They also don't have a particularly good forward line. If Billy played up front for them now, they'd be top.

There are plenty of banana skins left for them. Wigan will have a go and we cannot dismiss the Agent Leon factor. No reason he cannot boss their centre halves and I think they will struggle to pick up Powell if fit. Brentford at home are very strong with at least three very good goal threats. For Villa, Abraham guatantees a goal almost every time and Grealish is really on song. Ipswich, well they are down as the 24th team, but they will not want to lose the last game of the season at home and will be playing with no pressure on them.

Pendulum has definitely swung Leeds' way but there will be chances, we just have to be ready to take them.

I would question the remark about his first touch..... I think he has been one of Wilder's best signings and should be one of the first names on the team sheet, but there are times when his first touch is atrocious from someone of his ability. It often bounces off him making him chase and stretch to get it under control.

100% agree. A great signing but that touch, lord above, it can be dreadful. It inadvertently led to Egans sending off. He carelessly gave it away on the edge of the box with an awful touch, which led to the shot which hendo pushed wide, the cross came back in and well the rest we know. Not blaming him for it, as hendo couldve pushed it wide, the cross couldve been blocked, the header challenged etc etc, but that bad touch did play a part in it.

Still, as someone else said we wouldnt have got him for free if he was perfect. Hes been a great signing all in all

Hardly, he cleared it 60 yards and was fouled in the process, had the ref done his job in that incident, we win.

Looking at the replay it's a huge case of being too honest.
If he squeals like a Premier Leaguer, goes down, rolls about a bit, then the ref probably stops the game. The fact he should have given a foul regardless . . .

He has been a wonderful signing he is a pleasure to watch. Skilful articulate ball control prepared to shoot, tracks back defends corners a real football brain. Credit to the club. Madine is proving to be a very very good signing and now it’s up to Hogan if these three click we can still do it.
I really can’t praise Mac enough love watching him play quality

Pro's far outweigh the cons for me. I'm struggling to think of a free transfer thats been as much of a bargain as McGoldrick

this 100% , he is a joy to watch and Imo he is up their with one of the best signings over the CW years which says allot
The effort he puts in also is excellent , felt him and madine were our best 2 players by a country mile on Saturday

Hogan will prob get his time now for atleast a game or 2 and Imo needs to do far more than he has done already in his albeit brieft appreances ,
