Didn’t deserve to lose that

Gave a good account of ourselves, no shame in losing from a cracking cross and header. Thought Mahrez and Gray for them were very good. Brooks did very well and made a difference when he replaced the very poor Wilson. Blackman and Duffy also did well, the others put in good performances. The only poor performances were Wilson and Ched, neither did anything of note.

Blades fans at the game were a credit, never stopped singing.

With the side put out it was a decent performance without ever looking threatening or looking like we were going to win. I do feel we missed out progressing though, slightly different tactics and go for the win with all out attacking that we are used too, no difference getting beat 4 nil or 1 nil in the cup, but a trick missed as Leicester were there for the taking imo if we had gone about it a different way but our hands were maybe tied with the players missing.

Not got a clue what Lafferty was doing in that midfield, shocking player. The first half was the worst I have seen for a very long time from a Blades player, he touched the ball 6 times I think it was, and he gave the ball away 6 times. Second half improved every so slightly but still poor. He is a sunday league player who has a engine, nothing more. Duffy or Brooks instead of Lafferty from the start and things could have been more promising.

How can you say that, Ched had a long range effort that narrowly fizzed past the corner flag

Proud of the lads tonight and their keeper has had to push a shot round the post!!. A couple of their knobhead fans asked me what division we were in and was that our full strength side? ( honestly). I got the feeling from their fans that they haven't got a clue about the rest of the football world!!.

Many of us fearing a hammering yet we only lose due to a single Mahrez/Vardy combination, and without quite a few of our first choice players. Off the back of this and the L33ds result can't see why we couldn't go on a bit of a run now and consolidate in the top 6.

That is a terrible slight on the many Sunday league players who are miles better than him.

Didn't see any of the game, had to rely on RS commentary but by all accounts it sounded like a battling performance with the players we had out.

Leicester were always going to dominate the possession and have more chances, even against our strongest team if it was available. But it sounded like we restricted them for the most part. Good to see Brooks get time on the pitch again - also pleasing to hear that Blackman had a good game. Take the positives from it and move on. Up the Blades

We did very well with the side we had out.

It was good to see Wilder approach it differently. He got it right, and we restricted a very talented attacking line up very well. The flexible 4-4-2/3-5-2 is a good option for us in these hard away games. We need to be able to be hard to break down and tonight showed we can be. Big positive.

Great to see Brooks back. It's a massive boost, we've missed him hugely. He looked at home against such opposition.

Good support. Knew it would be.

Thought we were average at best to be honest. We've gone out with a whimper.

I know Leicester are a decent Premier League team but we looked scared of them at times and just couldn't get the ball. We were far too sloppy in possession and offered absolutely nothing going forward until Brooks came on.

Can't help but feel Wilder should have played Duffy, Clarke and Sharp from the start and had a right good go at them. What did we have to lose?

Lundstram had a shocker as well. Gave the ball away far too much and panicked far too often.

I got a couple of Spurs supporting pals like that. They’re only vaguely aware of anything outside of the Premier League top six.

It was a decent performance against a top 1/2 premiership side with an understrength team so I'm happy enough.

Positives

Entire back 3 were fantastic, and needed to be
Brooks and Duffy coming on meant we were finally in it going forward
Brooks return may be significant to our run in

Considering the team we put out we did brilliantly.

Leicester just had more quality than us.

Of course they did. Spending millions usually equates to quality (apart from at Hillsborough). Leicester (as most expected) beat us and Man. City thumped Leicester last Saturday 5-1. Money talks.

Personally, I'm glad we've had a half-decent Cup run, but only 2 goals scored in 3 games tells its own story. We could have had a morale-destroying beating (think Notts County) but have come through with credit. The season (re-)starts on Friday!

Good all round performance tonight so well done.

What was obvious is the quality, but how do you define 'quality'? For me it was the speed and accuracy of the passing and when a player received a ball he knew where he was going and moved straight away. We passed slower along the ground, often not accurate enough and the receiving player had to take a touch or look up and take a adjusting step or two. By the time we adjusted they were on us.
As a team they drove forward better not side to side, possession often appears to be our main aim whereas at the start of this season we attacked defences. Bit better after Brooke's came on cause he does give us a bit of that.

Mom's was a joint effort for Blackman and Baldock for me.

They were good off the ball too. Gave us very little time and our makeshift midfield couldn't cope with it. Some of our passing was unnecessarily sloppy, which was disappointing but not unexpected. As you say, the higher up the leagues you go, the quicker and more accurate the passing. A weaker Leicester side made Peterborough look like a Sunday league team.

These two posts say it all. Had a good snap shot in the first few minutes but seen nothing to suggest this lad deserves a shirt in a hard working side.
He might not be up for the scrap. Players like Laffs, Ched and Brooks might not have featured much of late, injury/illness playing a part, but they showed a desire and a hunger and brilliant professionalism.

Could have easily nicked something there with a more adventurous team selection. Wasted opportunity and I'll be another year older waiting for us to win this fucking competition.

Quality that. Were you expecting us to do this time round?
