Did we miss

Not for me we didn't.

Seip looks more than capable and although the BBC stats show Middlesbrough having more shots overall and more shots on target, in reality, a lot of the shots on target were speculative efforts and easy claims for Bunn while those off-target would've been better suited to a rugby match.

I also noticed the defence playing quite a high line at times yesterday, which tells you something about their confidence and something about how un-threatening Boro were.

Or it possible tells us about the lack of movement and pace about Boro yesterday (until Johnson came on)

Didn't miss Killa yesterday, but if (when) he goes by the end of January,he will be a massive miss over the remaining games in view of his pace, quality, and partnership with Morgan.

From what I gather we'll have to do without him from now on, because he's joining Everton this week apparently.

I thought Seip had another good game yesterday, I've been impressed with him. He reads the game well, plays the ball out of defence if he can and generally looks solid.

I'm impressed with his communication so far too, clocked him a number of times pushing the line up, telling everyone, including his captain, to move out.

What impressed me about Seip was the simple fact that he won absolutely everything in the air. Basic central defending attribute one: CHECK.

Obviously, time will tell but it was a promising start on an occasion when at least half of the Blades in attendance were witnessing the guy for the first time.

Not particularly yesterday but little pace to threaten the centre of the defence.
But in general he would be a big miss as he would be to any other team in this league.

Totally agree, when he does go we'll have to bring another centre half in before the end of the window, preferably someone with a bit more pace. If not, we'll have to start defending deep on a more regular basis.

Seip looks great with the action in front of him, but I fear for that defensive partnership when a team looks to turn them. We're so accustomed to watching Kilgallon switch on the speed to get across and cover that it could look ugly when we see what we're missing. Especially when we're chasing a game.

Still, we ain't sold him yet....

Although Seip did well, I think we should not underestimate the performances of Chris Morgan. Has there ever been a more improved player at our club? He is much more of a footballer (than a stopper) these days, and Seip slotted in well.

We would miss Killa against better strikers. Boro were lightweight up front, but our defenders would find it much more difficult against tougher opponents.

Our full-backs are key to that as well because Walker often gets others out of trouble. Perhaps if we signed a decent left back to play with Walker, Morgan and Seip we wouldn't miss Killa as much.......maybe?

looking at burnleys comments at his wage demands, his time in any case is numbered at bdtbl,we should take the dosh and run.!!

In answer to your question;

Not in the slightest. Seip looked like he had played 200 games for us. If its true and Everton are giving us £1.75M for him let him go and we can reinvest. He will go in the summer anyway.

People have summed up Seip well enough already.

One curious thing about Saturday was Fortune's place on the bench? I thought he had an injury that would go well beyond his short term contract. Strange one that.

If Killa goes, we'll no doubt need one more central defender. Anyone in the academy ready to make the step up? Or maybe a youngster from the lower leagues? Or even one from Fradi or Chengdu? Rafe Wolfe perhaps?

*wakes up*

Is there a chance that Everton will give us diddly squat and just wait for Killa to get over his 'illness' which oddly co-encides with his contract with us coming to an end :(

Me too. wasn't particularly looking out for this but couldn't help but notice Seip pushing bodies back up the field once we'd cleared the danger. Happened a few times.

Although I still think you can't beat the sound of......"MORGS"

That's "refreshing", isn't it?
