Went to Tadcaster last night and watched a decent game involving a young United featuring a a few trialists and also, some of the new signings.
The ground is decent, Clubhouse with big windows down one side, small seated stands behind each goal and lots of tall trees giving it a nice setting.
This game was arranged as part of the deal that brought Harry Sheppeard to The Lane.
£6 to get in, £2 programme and 20p for a totally waste of time team sheet.
Not doing an in depth report but want to mention a couple of players: Goalkeeper Jordan Amissah FUCK Me, thought it was Jamal! . Very similar physique and (ok it was only Tadcaster) ability. Was really impressed with his command of the area and his handling. Spoke with Del Geary at H/T and he said we had got him from Dortmond. Another one who took the eye initially was Charlie Ball, midfielder on trail from Everton Silky skills, great range of passes but what became apparent as the game went on, a poor work ethic. He would run towards an opponent to make it appear he was challenging but wouldnt actually put a tackle in. The game was 3 x 30 minutes "half's" and The Blades won 1-0. Nicksoen Gomis played the last third at left sided CB, he didnt impress but early days. Enjoyable night and its good to see the club have got all levels working hard and playing the ball out from the back.
