Can anyone really see any of our permanently contracted players being in high demand in the summer?

Apart from Maguire obviously, I don't think even our better performer (Baxter, Murphy, Scougall) or any other player being really sought after, particularly from the Championship. This is clearly a positive in terms of keeping our team together, but an indicator that our squad in its current state is in no position to be challenging for the top 2 next season. Clough has to get this summer right, and we are nowhere near a promotion side. We cannot continue this trajectory into next season without a half a new squad really.

I think of our 'best' team (FA Cup semi team), only 2 or 3 would get into Wolves or Brentfords team this season. We've done well, but all Clough as done is maximise the capability of our players. If we are serious about automatic next season there is still a long way to go!

This season has seen possibly the best two all round sides in wolves and brentford since we've been in league 1, we had a car crash of a first half to the season. However we now have a good manager, a solid defence, let's face it we've been a quality striker away from the playoffs and we've only just fallen short having played the most matches out of everyone in our league. Trust me with a good striker and a few more additions we will be up there next season! UTB!

If we make the right kind of acquisitions up top, we will still have the strongest squad in the league - even if it isn't quite as good as the Wolves of this season.

Wait and see!

In Nigel we trust. You have to get the basics right first. That is the manager and his staff.

Have confidence in him, top manager, the wilderness years are coming to an end.

That's my point. We need a few additions. I don't think JUST a striker is enough, which many seem to assume is the case.

Agree with what your saying blader there is a long way to go but the semi final team would have far more than 2 or 3 players getting in wolves or brentfords teams ,they include maguire, brayford, harris, murphy, coady ,scougall, baxter and possibly flynn as all these players would play better with better players around them imo

I think it is striker, a right winger for competition and if I had to be picky a centre half. If we had that competition I believe we would win the league. Without a right winger and centre half I think we will still be strong enough for promotion.

Ye you're right, though I did specify permanent players. Which leaves Maguire, Harris (hmm maybe), Scougall and Baxter. So 4. We need players in every position, not just that elusive striker. Clough has a big job on his hands, not to say I don't believe he can do it, just hope he and the fans don't underestimate the size of the task.

We'll need another central midfielder as well to replace Coady.

Having been happy to play Dimaio on a number of occasions now, might there be a chance that Clough will look internally for a replacement for Coady, who I imagine, as you probably do, will be off to a championship team this summer?

The way the second half of the season went I can't see Jack Charlton making it to Christmas.
