They're starting to think we might beat their record. Most comments are light hearted, but might be worth Wilder printing it off and sticking it on the dressing room wall!

Not enough room, all wall space now taken up by s2 4su threads and shout box quotes

I’ve seen enough the last couple of games to give me the confidence we’ll make a good fist of fighting off relegation. We just need that first win, get that monkey off our backs... Then take it from there. Everton Boxing Day will do nicely!

The Derby fan I know sort of wears the record as a badge of honour. Wonder if we could embrace it in the same way if it comes down to it.

I’m still amazed when I hear this blind optimism. I admire your positive thinking mate but words like we ‘just’ need to do this or we ‘only’ need to win that really puzzle me. We have not won in 14 and have lost 12. It is proving to be quite an ask to draw let alone win any match. I hope we smash Everton but the likelihood is we will lose.

"as a team that fed off their raucous home crowd!" Those of you who get back in, you know what you have to do, this message will self destruct in 5 seconds.

18 competitive matches without a win in all competitions.

It’s because football is as much a mental game as it is a physical one. Losing becomes a habit. Equally so does winning!
It’s not blind optimism. I fully appreciate the predicament we’re in. But a run of 3/4 wins on the bounce and everything changes.
I do think we hit rock bottom at Southampton. I’ve seen a marked improvement in attitude since then.
And don’t underestimate the vibe from a good ol fashioned backs against the wall, everyone dying for the cause team performance. Can really raise the spirits... more than a routine win from my experience.

A run of 3/4 wins on the bounce? Why would we be able to do this?
Don't get me wrong, we have improved since Southampton, but we still only have 1 point to show for it. To start with we need to keep a clean sheet, we haven't done that all season.

I understand your negativity and defeatism. All I can offer you is the cliche “stranger things have happened”
I’m sure many thought Harry Houdini’s team were down too. But you just never know in football. I’m not accepting relegation until there’s a big ‘R’ next to our name... even then I’ll be convinced we’ve been robbed!! Haha

...bit like our defence !

First team to be called United, First team to play under floodlights, First team to play with a live commentary, First team promoted from Division 2 into Division 1, First team to score in the Premier League..............lowest points total in a Premier League season?

Who fucking cares? So we’ll be the subject of a few pub quizzes, no such thing as bad publicity, as they say 🤷🏻‍♂️

Look I hope we've turned a corner as much as the rest of us, but if we don't we could risk being one of the worst first division performing teams in entire sporting history if we get less than 10 points.

Before you laugh, who else would you point to as an alternative?

no. It would be an embarrassment.

Agreed.

And, fair or not, it'll tarnish what the team achieved in the 2016-2019 period, for posterity. They won't necessarily be remembered as the front-foot team that took things by storm with an innovative system. Instead, history will damn them as another side that got lucky for 2/3rds of a season and then slid away like as teams like Blackpool, Huddersfield and Hull did before them.

Such a shame that it will be difficult to remember what the team achieved without the overriding memory being that they ended up completely exposed and out of their depth to a humiliating degree.

I’m optimistic. I remember being very down in the dumps after the Christmas fixtures in our promotion season from the championship.
That team under Wilder came good and won automatic promotion.
We WILL stay up this season.
So after 2 points, no wins and no clean sheets all season. What makes you think we will do enough to turn things round?
Buy new players in Jan? Total change of tactics? Suddenly start getting clean sheets?

Charlie blade has either had too much of the stuff or he's Charlie Cairoli.

Hi, Stegosaurus here

If we're going down, might as well make it special.

I'd rsther drop on 5 points than 35
