I've heard from the work pig and also from my sister-in-law who knows a pig that went to the match that at least one person was hit by acid prior to the match, thrown by United fans at Wednesday fans.

The person she knows posted on Facebook saying it was a friend of his called Ruth who was taken to the Northern, and then later on Facebook posted that it was "children, women and old folks hit by bottles of acid".

Now I'm not saying this didn't happen, although I find it very interesting that no proper news outlts have mentioned this supposed "atack" or indeed "attacks" at all.

Surely something this serious would have made the news? Wouldn't the police be appealing for witnesses? Did it happen, or is it just nonsense?

Edit - if this did happen and anyone saw it, contact the police.

Amazing that in an away end consisting of 99% coked up blokes from Barnsley, it's just the women, children and old folks who are hit by these acid attacks.
That was my thought. The chap first stated that one woman he knows was hit, then posted laer about the women, children and old folks, because grown men always travel seperately to these groups.

It's true unfortunately.

This guy was seen staggering towards the ambulances off Cherry Street before kick off.

That’s just an average pig supporter that, I think mate. Easy mistake to make tho 😂
If u look carefully u can see hes saying :”Were all Wendy arent we”

Is this supposed to have happened in the ground or before? I saw a group of blades hooligans throwing cans at Wednesday fans walking up bramall lane before the match.

Saw loads of stuff thrown into the Wednesday fans on Bramall lane including cans,a bottle and a traffic cone.
At the end of the match saw a seat from the away end thrown into the John Street stand.

Traffic cone was lobbed at them and one fan being injured is the only thing I have seen.

My mates young lad (10) was hit in the stomach with half filled can by our lot.. Thankfully was only in the stomach and not in his head as could have been a lot worse but absolutely disgusting. If you want violence, do it away from the ground not where kids are.
Not saying it was just us, they were as bad.

I’ve heard Lockheed Martin getting in touch with the individual responsible who’s managed to develop an undetectable Acid Gun which can be set just to seek out old people, women and children in a sea of fat men with ginger hair, wet look gel and large gold hoop earrings with little owls hanging off them.

Seems to happen every time after the derby these wild Facebook claims. These will be the same people who claim spray paint markings left by workmen on the pavement are actually done by gypsies marking out houses with dogs to steal.

I’m pretty sure that it would have made national news by now if someone had been the victim of an acid attack in a large football match.

Not only that there would have been statements issued by the police and clubs to say they were investigating it as they usually do with any sort of big incident at a match.

I don't remember so much pushing and shoving on Bramall Lane prior to previous Derby matches - but maybe I just didn't happen to be there at the right time. I walked from town and turned into New Era Square at about 11. There were a group of Blades at the Bramall Lane end waiting (presumably for Wed fans to appear). We went in the Lykke Bar and left at about 11.30 with the intention of walking along Bramall Lane to the South Stand turnstiles.
It was obvious there was a large contingent of Wed fans walking along Bramall Lane with Blades fans to either side with police and a horse in between keeping them apart. It was incredibly congested and there were a few drinks cans being thrown - from both sides - the liquid smelling of beer to me, I received a few splashes but nothing worse.
At the Cricketers there were Blades fans walking the other way, lots of pushing and shoving but no aggro amongst Blades (that I saw). At this point I decided enough was enough and turned up John Street and did a circuit to get to the South Stand turnstiles.
I couldn't work out whether the Wed fans had purposely marched en masse or whether they'd been coralled by the Police.
Whatever caused this, it could have led to a very ugly situation and I've been to plenty of Derby matches (primarily Wed and Leeds) over the past 60+ years.
As for acid - I think urine is more probable

I heard the same - but it was actually "Asid Attacked".

Essentially one SWFC was so angry about relegation, he marched into a takeaway on London road and ripped the big Shawarma skewer off the spit, and threw it at the poor helpless man serving.

There's videos of them being marched down Fitzwilliam Street by the Police, presumably met off the last tram into town from Hillsborough way.

By the by, if you want any horse shit for your garden, there's still loads down that way.

I do wonder to what level a police escort actually encourages it. People are a lot more brave on all sides when they know they can do and say things consequence free. I sit quite near the away end, and enjoy the banter etc as much as anyone, but you see a lot of 20 somethings gesturing to each other to fight outside knowing they're never actually going to get anywhere close to each other. You predictably see a lot less on Bramall Lane after the match, where both sets of fans can quite freely mix.
