I would've thought that signing Riley would allay any interest in McLaughlin, at least if Wilder's maximising his budget like I expect him to be.

Though I wouldn't be against us bringing him in. He's yet another versatile, good all round footballer who'd be very useful to the squad.

Agree dane, no matter how any poster tries to validate such a comment, it's as if it's ok to point a finger simply because someone's dead. The rumours about Savile were around for years, I don't recall anything close to this being associated with Mike Reid. Just another spiteful leap in the dark because it suits someone's lurid imagination.

He's about the level you'd expect for a player coming into a L1 club knowing he's going to be mainly on the bench. We've been lucky with injuries so we haven't really needed him but maybe knowing he's an option gave other players a bit more motivation than they'd otherwise have and if we'd have suffered an injury crisis we'd have been glad of him.

I think it wouldn't be a bad idea necessarily to send all the players that we got from Bury, back to Bury. Because none of them have been any good - and why should they have been anyhow? Send 'em all back, Hussey, Clarke and Brown. Send Wilson back to Oldham as well. Get the Lancashire out of our club! Then pop down the M180 to Grimsby and bring us back the new Brian Deane.
