  • Tried hard.
  • Started well but faded away.
  • No threat from set pieces.
  • Failure to take our chances.
  • Other team clinical when they get theirs.
  • Most creative player sat on the bench for 85 mins.
  • Clarke gets a full 90 despite looking knackered from 55 mins onwards.
Lessons learnt over the summer?

Points dropped from winning position too - was a theme towards the end of the season

Build-up play is way to predictable. We play way 2 much at the side lines of the pitch, that's so easy to defend. One of the only few times the backs came into the halfspaces it resulted in a goal. Duffy needs to start next game, and we need to get him and Fleck on the ball more often.

Oh, and please give us a fast technical striker. McGoldrick is fine but he and Clarke are too similar.

Billy is our best striker, did more work than Clarke
Duffy was our best midfielder.
Stevnes is shite
Formation is dead
Swansea were shite
Looking like a bottom half team

I don’t think we played one ‘clever’ pass all game (possibly the one from Lundstram to set up the goal - I don’t know if it was deliberate or just a hopeful cross).

When Woodburn played that through ball with the outside of his boot, in his mind he was playing it to MO SALAH but in reality it was Sharp.
That's exactly what my Villa supporting future brother in law said

No pace. Not fit enough. Too many slow, pointless, negative passes. Leave our only creative player on the bench. Wasted what little money we spend.
