I think Kitson, Porter and Cresswell are all able to play up top alone or alongside a strike partner better than Blackman could. So even if we don't replace Blackman like for like I still think we have his two positions covered.

Seriously ??? two unfit old farts and Mr Average

If anyone is considering Creswell or Porter as a first choice forward then you can kiss goodbye to promotion.

Would agree with that. I see a use for Porter in coming on as a sub in certain situations but that's about it.

If we had a little quick un Porter would be fine. But we sent one back to Man United which was fine until we sold the other one to Reading. And like the rest of you I am sat crossing everything so that we sign someone of use, but in my heart of hearts we are stuck with what we have. Another January of McCabes arms shrinking and his pockets getting deeper. That said he has ploughed billions into the club and does a great job of keeping us afloat doesn't he?

Kitson, Porter, Ironside, Murphy

Would that be enough? It's the pace of that quartet that excites me :D

In fairness, despite my Anti-Porter stance, he played really well alongside Miller and seemed to allow Miller to play his game.

Ahh, apologies. I thought we were having a grown up discussion. Carry on.

PS. f*cking Billy Dearden? Really?

Aye, really. Stop thinking about the past. All that matters is the hear and now and how best we can all play a part in making Sheff Utd better again and taking the club to somewhere once again we can be proud. Billy 'f*cking' Dearden! You'd be welcome over at Swillsborough, they love talking about the past.

I don't disagree, I will state that. But I think what we need is the ability to bring in a decent Shaun Miller type. Its a risk to sell Blackman, but I don't think its the worst move we've made this season... So long as we fill the Miller gap.

We can also look at it as a potential higher earner being moved off the wage bill, which may allow us to pay a better wage to a new player coming in...

The way i see it is we've lost our best two strikers and as a consequence we have two positions to fill.

Porter is sh*t. So that leaves two. Cressy bless him, is like an old war horse now. How long before he gets injured again. He's like an ageing pudsey bear. Which just leaves Kitson and not everybody thinks he's much good, although i kinda like him. My point being, the situation aint good. Not like you're making it out to be. We need to sign somebody, desperately.

Selling Blackman will in no way mean McCabe will break our current pay structure. If you think that you're on drugs. By the way, it's been on the radio that we can't afford Bradley Wright-Phillips wages which proves my point.

Since it's been announced that our new star striker was being sold, everyone who gave out yards about the guy are now bemoaning the fact that the kid has gone. He's gone from being work shy ,greedie , going missing in games , to someone we can't live without. I know he's our top striker but how many times has he made us go brillant finish that , once or twice , good luck to the kid in the future , If Miller had'nt got injuried would there be this much uproar , I will wait to see who is brought in before further comments , whoever it won't be pretty if it's not a couple of good un's , as my own loyaltie is almost at breaking point , with the top un's not the club . Just cause i've hair around me lips does'nt mean you can treat me like a c**nt

You remember that contract we negotiated five months back Danny? Aye, at them agreed wages. Well, turns out fairies had been at books again...much too high, got to get rid.

he was a nobody when we signed him. hes still is to be honest. how much wages could he have been on?!?

Whilst he has some good skills on the ball and can dribble, he'd really only be another member of our axis of adequacy in the wide areas.

I like McGinn, but if I was determined to sign a Scottish centre forward to lead the line I'd go for Johnny Russell or Cillian Sheridan.
we've had a bid turned down for johnny Russell according to journo on twitter
