I wouldn't go out of my way to sign him next year, no matter the outcome of our season.

He's a decent shot stopper, saved us many times and has also saved us points however he has also cost us points.

Not seen the highlights for yesterday but apart from that one diving save in the second half, i can't remember him making any actual 'saves'. A dribble of a shot i wouldn't class as a save.

He was very nervy in the first half against the sun, he seemed to refuse to come out when he could have come out to collect the ball, he dropped the ball after catching it... thankfully no one was too close to him to capitalise on the chance.

Have 0 confidence in him for corners, 0 confidence in him to make commanding decisions like Simon Moore always did.

1st goal, will have been difficult with the sun in his eyes... but their goalkeeper didn't seem to have any trouble. Although we barely had any shots to test him, especially with a fluke shot like that.

For their free kick that hit the post... i am perfectly aware that goalkeepers normally rely on the wall protecting the BIG BIG space that's open in the goal however how often does that actually happen.

We all know where the player is going to put the ball, but yet Dean Henderson didn't even make an effort to save it, he was way way way too far away from the other side of the net. He was probably covering about 15% of the goal.

Should he have saved any of the other 2 goals? Not sure as i haven't seen the highlights... but would other goalkeepers have saved it?

Sometimes Hendo has a blinder but sometimes he doesn't have a clue what planet he's on

He's very young in terms of being a goalkeeper, and has a lot to learn. The worst part of his game for me is how he sets himself and the wall up for free kicks. He leaves so much space it's unreal. As for saying that, he's a fantastic shot stopper and will be a Premier League keeper at some point. I do think he needs another season at Championship level though (either with us or someone else)!! Personally I'd go for Jamal Blackman again next season if Henderson doesn't come back!!

He was hugely at fault for Stoke's equaliser at the Lane, speaking of free kicks.

He's got plenty in the plus column but he's definitely cost us his fair share of points this season.

He’s fairly confident that he’ll be in the full England squad this time next year. He’s expecting top league football next season in this country or elsewhere.

Why didn’t you bring your concerns to the table when we’ve been keeping clean sheets for fun and he’s been having a lot of commanding performances?

Laughable and reactionary opening post that couldn’t be further from the truth, he might have had a few hesitant moments yesterday but before that he’s had a consistent 10 to 15 games or so, let’s get a bit of perspective eh?

.........and no disrespect to Moore but he isn’t in the same class as Hendo.

I think Henderson is a fantastic keeper and perfect for the sort of level of team we are. I doubt we'll be able to afford him though, and if we had the money to spend I'd rather it be spent elsewhere. He'll be on loan at a lower PL side next season. Never know, might be us...

Perspective is seeing more things to him than only just positives. I am looking at another perspective of Henderson, which is that there are also downfalls to his game

Commanding like Simon Moore? Give over pal! One of Moore's main criticisms is that he refuses to leave his line.
At least he shouts and communicates with his defenders. Can hear him from the other side of the stadium.

I'm not suggesting we replace Hendo WITH Moore but Hendo really needs to learn from Moore's communication skills

True and very clever by man Utd because he won't be able to play against them for 2 games unless the fa change that pathetic and outdated rule.

Every player will have some downfalls but his positives far outweigh the negatives and that’s why the OP is very harsh.

I’ll ask you this then, who could we bring in, who we could afford, who’d want to come here, who isn’t currently playing at their club and is better than Hendo?

Neil Etheridge if Cardiff get relegated? I'm not a football manager, Hendo is obviously no doubt a top championship level goalkeeper but is prone to mistakes. That's all

The first goal is one of those things, a bad mistake but the conditions were against him. What I noticed though were on two occasions in the first half the defender left the ball for him only to have to clear it in a panic cos he'd stayed on his line.

The two instances were practically identical too. Don't know if it was nervousness or what.

Hendo clearly has a lot of talent but at this stage of his career he is still learning, no 'keeper can be the finished article at such a young age but he is ahead of the curve & will have a great career in years to come. I thought he was at fault for the first two yesterday, but as has been said above he is massively in credit with us this season & doesn't deserve too much criticism. He will know this without being told & I am sure will work on weaknesses in training, as well as fine tuning his already impressive qualities.

At 2-1 Stearman for Jack and Lunny for Norwood might just have seen us over the line

Stears or Cranie. Cranie is a solid player, I don't think they would have had a sniff down that side if he was on the pitch.

He’s a loan player. When they’re young, you get the bonus of additional talent and the drawback is a lack of experience. You also get people who either give a shit or don’t really. I’d say we comfortably have two of the three.

He’s not the best all round but I’m completely comfortable with him in goal and he’s better than Moore.

Quite why we’re even considering next year when we don’t know what division we will be in is a bit beyond me though

The first goal for them changed the game, it was a goal Hendo should have dealt with sun or no sun.
Agree of the three that was the one maybe he was culpable for. Thought his feet were slow but he may have been unsighted by the sun. At least he had a cap on, would have been unforgivable if that hadn’t been the case

Dean Henderson will go onto be a good keeper there is not doubt about it. I just don't feel (even if we do go up) we should or will be throwing £15 million plus at a keeper despite his huge potential. I just wish Henderson was a few inches taller where corners etc are concerned. Chances are Deano will be playing premier league football next year.

Which brings me onto 6ft7 Jamal Blackman who for me is the better "value" buy. Yes he's not as good a shot stopper as Deano but he commands his box better and will be about 1/3 of the price as there is no risk of him getting into the Chelski team any time soon. If we had have signed Blackman on loan again this year before Henderson I doubt there would have been too many moaning.
