I reckon we got him cos Man Utd felt bad after the absolute shitshow they loaned us last season. He's quality. I was worried when we didn't sign Blackman, but those worries are evaporating. He will play at a much higher level before too long if he carries on like this. Just glad he's here for now.

Well, there needs to be a certain amount of guilt from the 'biggest team in the world™' for the quality of players that they keep sending over to us in recent years. Michael Twiss, Alex Notman, John Cofie, Joe Riley and James Wilson have hardly gone on to be world beaters. It's about time they started sending us the good stuff. :)

Am I the only one who worries about him on corners and crosses?
Similar build to De Gea who struggled with that at this age as well. This is why he's getting lower leagues experience. We might have a few issues with it but hopefully that's the part we see the most improvement through the year. Just unfortunate it won't be us who reap the benefits long term - still seems a good signing though

He’s learning a brand new defence. A shaky one at that.

Shrews fans said he was great at theirs. I think we were spoiled with Blackman last year in that area, that was his biggest strength and he was brilliant at it.

You just never know about the long term with big clubs, they could easily go and splash £60 million on a new keeper if De Gea leaves - leaving your man Deano with no route to the first XI again.

We'll never be able to afford him if he does well. If he doesn't, we won't want to buy him. Enjoy it while it lasts.

Our plan is to get promoted, earn millions and sign Jamal permanently. Simple really.

Let’s not go overboard on the guy! Whilst his passion is admirable, he hasn’t kept a clean sheet yet! Just saying!

We might see the future benefits. He won’t be in the Man Utd first team any time soon and IF we look like realistic promotion contenders over the next couple of years who knows........

It looks like for the second year running we have got an outstanding young keeper on loan. Things could go wrong, of course, but he looks like another good prospect, and about as opposite to Jamal as it's possible to be: Blackman was so laid back that it took me till Xmas to realise that he was paying attention; Henderson is more from the Burridge-type school of goalkeeping, wanting to be the centre of attention, and throwing himself around at every opportunity ( he looks a much better keeper than Burridge). He clearly loves playing football, and it is great to see a ManU kid who obviously loved playing for Shrewsbury and appears to be loving it at the Lane. Like Blackman, he will probably be here only for year, so I hope he continues to thrive here, and like Blackman, will always be welcomed back here.
It is good to see a keeper with the character to connect with a crowd. They are of all players the ones in the best position to interact with the crowd, whether for ill (think Angus Gunn) or for good (Henderson, and my all-time favourite, Hodgy).

When he made THAT save, he was celebrating to himself like he’d scored, doing his own little fistpumps to himself, was funny to watch. I thought he was gonna pat himself on the back at one point

Saves like that will make him feel like a million dollars and will do his confidence a world of good

I don’t think confidence is something he struggles with :)

I was watching him too, arms out shoulders up strutting around, he knew

When are we ever confident of keeping a clean sheet ?
I've never really understood the term "goalkeepers keeping clean sheets".
Defenders keep clean sheets just as much as goalkeepers, if they constantly switch off like ours do you're asking the goalkeeper to produce miracles, and as miracles don't happen they'll eventually let one in if not protected properly.

Waiting for it to arrive, having to avoid the serialisation on the Green Un app is very bloody annoying and needs a “spoiler alert” notification.
Sorry mate. Didn’t want to spoil it too much but Duffy scores :D

Fast becoming a lane legend. The passionate celebration after the win at QPR & the absolute heroics today. Immense young un!

Got a very bright future ahead of him.

UTB

Edit: Enjoy him whilst he's here blades! He'll be a Man United starter in no time.

Couldnt agree more. Love his passion and enthusiasm. Top lad.

Are you another member of the goalkeepers' Union? Plenty of us on here.

Alan Kelly , Simon Tracey , Mel Rees , Paddy Kenny , were used to a decent keeper at the Lane !
I think the best i have seen in a Blades Shirt is Alan Kelly .

Bloody hell hes got some balls , some might say cocky , but i suppose you need to be like that to be a decent keeper ! definitely doesnt lack confidence .
