And he chose to be capped by Philippines. If he was English his fee would be more. And I know that sounds racist but it really isn't
I believe he was born in London and would be classed as "home grown" but I get what you mean. I would say after this season he is at a similar level to Butland (Butland is a few years younger) but will go for a fraction of the price that Butland will sell for..

This is why we need Deano back. Fucking cat does not do him justice.

Messi also hasn't transferred 10 times (5 on loan).

Read this morning that West Ham are looking at Etheridge... If they end up getting him, I would go for Fabianski at West Ham.

Do you know how much Fabianksi is on at West Ham?? Utd simply aren't able to offer anything like it.

Not just Fabianski but signing any established Prem players will be challenging for that very reason. Recruiting the better quality and higher paid Champ players will prove challenging enough. £20m for Morpay, Forestieri on £40k+/week etc. This will be further complicated by clubs, agents and players seeking even more due Utd's Prem status and windfall that comes with it.

Got to be looking at top end championship players now. Raid Leeds etc. Let's finish 17th and kick on season after

Fabianski is on 65k PW. If he would come down to below 50k then it would be affordable. Huddersfield were paying Mooy 60k per week.

I would still prefer Etheridge but if West Ham are actually looking to sign him then he will go there over us.

Unless West Ham would subsidise the deal, why on earth would he move for less money whilst still in contract at West Ham - i certainly wouldn't. It's not as if West Ham would want him to leave anyway with Adrian now out of contract.

I can't see Utd paying anyone anywhere near £50k/week next year anyway - probably closer to half that.

I think we’ll pay up to £40k a week, our top earners will be on £30k a week with their pay rise.

Few reports suggesting De Gea to PSG could put a spanner in the works but surely that would only be the case if they were going to go with Romero as No1 and wanted Henderson as No2.....can't see that!

Maybe he wants to be #1. I don't know the guy but there are plenty of examples of people taking wage cuts to play first team football.

I reckon we have players on 25k now after the 25% pay increase following promotion.

Where did you read that? Sounds like nonsense to me.

Fabianski has been great this year, and saved West Ham from embarrassment. If they're signing Etheridge, it's surely as backup.

Etheridge, Ward, Randolph. All as good as Henderson, all with top flight experience. Would all be permanent too.

I'd love Henderson first and foremost but this really doesn't worry me if it can't be done. There's plenty of top drawer keepers knocking about within our reach.

Yeah I thought Fabianski had a good season too. There are quite a few articles, I have only read the headlines so dont crucify me if the article is bolocks :)

Fair enough- plenty of people reporting it obviously.

Can't see it myself, though stranger things have happened I suppose!

surprised no one (that I've noticed) has mentioned Sam Johnstone from WBA. unless he's being paid silly money with parachute payments we should go for him

Good keeper indeed.

Nice to come across another Melvins fan on here.
