A little off topic I know but I wouldn't be sad to see Brayford sold for what we paid in the summer. Don't get me wrong he's a good RB and gives the fans something to cheer about but id much rather us spend 1.5m/2m on good CB's/CM's and have an average right back than the other way around.

I wouldn't be sad to see him sold for considerably less than we paid. Think about his wages too. Maybe then we could get two good League One players. Not quite the 4/5 we could've got with the fee we paid had anyone at the club engaged their brain, but still.

Looking to off load Brayford would IMO be bad business . To build this side into a promotion pushing side next season we need a mix of experience and youth . If we are to bring in quality players , we need quality players here already to set the scene for recruitment . Young players coming through this Adkins pathway and being signed , also require senior professionals to look up to . Brayford , Hammond , and Billy fall into the criteria we require to finally set some DNA , good working discipline standards at this club. As said before selling good players and bringing in quantity not just adding quality to what's already at the club , just sets us back . ( last 5 years and > more proof how to cock it up without even trying )

Another good thread.

I think Hammond's workrate fits Adkins' scheme.

I bet all the ground he all overs frustrates the opposition: a midfielder will look up for a pass, Hammond will be there, and he'll have to try something else.

I wonder if his best work is not even destructive - it's preventative: and that really is a thankless task.

Just wish he showed better quality on the ball sometimes.

I expected him to pick up his form this year. But it does seem we've found another ageing footballer who cannot manage his failing legs. Which is a shame, because I think he'd have been a super player for us in the recent past.

I think that's probably fair JD.

He did very, very little yesterday. Didn't do much wrong and was very unfortunate to get booked, but it's easier to get away with doing little in a three man midfield and that's exactly what happened.

Stick two decent midfielders in that three and we'd have a good side (Coutts is most certainly one of them).

Beg to differ.

He's not got the fitness or mobility.

He does plenty of good stuff - but as others have pointed out he was blowing after literally 5 minutes against Wigan.

And it was no surprise he gave away the penalty.

I really like what he does on the ball, but off the ball he doesn't contribute anywhere near enough.

Next season as a Division 2 or Division 3 auto-chasing team, we need better players than this.

Broadly agree, particularly towards the end of your post. I still don't think he does enough, and I expect more from him given the level he's played at.

Totally agree. And I'm willing to fight sitters in the carpark over it.

...so long as his back is still playing up.

...and his shoe laces are tied together.

It will be interesting to see how we play without him in the next two games. I think he now has 10 bookings and will therefore be suspended.

I thought he might improve but it looks like his legs have gone.
For me it was one off the bright spots seeing him get booked in the knowledge that he'd miss a game . He's as active as a sloth.
Him , Coutts and Woolford., inspired signings fosseffs

I must watch a different game. I thought he did ok on Saturday but is not great generally. He's so slow, lacks any technical ability and is very clumsy. I'll be very disappointed if we sign him in summer. I prefer Doyle to be honest and I never thought I'd say that.

Played well, the system suited him.
Found pockets of space, and passed it neatly.

Suspended now for Rochdale & Burton, so probably Basham will be in there Sat, if Collins is fit.

Funnily enough I think Coutts will be playing in the championship with his old boss.
