Deadline day behind the scenes video

It is more about the quality of the pond Wilder was able to fish in. Then you should ask yourself who it is that determines this. I don't think that many people were jumping out of their seat with the names we were linked with.

We are newly on the up, having spent 6 reduced years in Lg1. Our rich owners are not rich by rich owner standards in the Champ. What pond do you expect us to be fishing in, a matter of days since we kicked off in the division ?

Oh, and transfers involving Blackman, Stearman, Stevens, Baldock, Heneghan, Donaldson, Brooks (loan cancelled) haven't significantly improved our match day squad ?

If you say so love. I'm out on a 48hr fishing match at the moment so haven't the luxury to watch the movie though I did read the àrticle. I'm assuming you have the same level of ITK access as WWF and know the pre agreed arrangements between Chairman and manger so I'll bow to your greater knowledge.

Foxy - can you allow Tunstall the ability to press 'like' with his headwand multiple times please? I feel sorry for him you see.

Its worth watching and listening to the video when you get the chance.
Somewhere within it there's mention of a budget that's been "signed off" so clearly Wilder and the Board have agreed a sum beforehand - but there is also the comment about checking with McCabe after hearing the agent for the 2 PL youngsters so one presumes that the budget could have been increased if Wilder wanted, but in this case HE didn't want to.

They have improved us, certainly. Not quite to the level I would've liked though and I accept this is due to the fact that our owners are not as rich as other championship owners. But then it begs the question, what do we do about it? Do we just continually make ends meet and try to stay in the division every year? Personally I want us to be aiming for the prem.

I'm sure we'll be aiming for the prem, but we need to be realistic about the timescales we have in mind for achieving this, right ? We've got a great platform again, now. Judge us (inc Wilder and McCabe) on where we are this time in two years, I'd say, rather than on where we think we might currently be, one window in.

We have to ask ourselves though, if we accept as you and me both do it seems, that our owners cannot compete financially with a lot of clubs in this division, is it likely that we will achieve the things we'd like to i.e get to the Prem? No, but of course I accept it is fair to allow them a chance before getting too critical.

I don't think this is really about how rich our owners are.

" Wilder takes a call from the club owners, who want an update on the Sinclair and Quina deals. "Nothing doing," he says. "I don't want the club to do deals that way."

Wilder is trying to steer us on a path to success without going down the route of paying the stupid inflated fees to greedy agents and clubs. Hopefully the release of this article/video can help to prevent some of this shit and I'm guessing that's why he agreed to do it. He has an integrity that seems to rise above a lot of the others in the game, only got to watch the Northampton speech he did to see that.

Shame the player has no say in where and when he is going, how much he earns and length of contract, sounds more like north korea,

If the player really wanted to play for us he should have just got a taxi from the station, come to the club and signed, then phoned his agent and told him. Seems like the tail wagging the dog to me.

No Boxer, it's more like modern capitalism where commodities are moved around, no matter where, for the benefit of a few, in this case mostly agents. This problem is so central to the welfare of players, that it may be that a time has arrived for players to be advised to contact their union to get receive guidance.

As this doesn't appear to be a priority issue for the sport's governing bodies, the FA, the Football League, or EUFA (and shame on all of them for their silence), a player should turn to his union to ask for help in identifying the central issues that are at stake that will affect his career. Regulation is long overdue and needed, urgently.

Taxi?
He could have bloody walked FFS!

Nope, just not really a true Blade by most peoples definitions (I expect). I followed them home and away for a while in my late teens, but the Wolves play-off final broke me - I haven't been to a game since, but I'll always be a Blade.
Fair play. Understandable.
Hopefully Wilder will tempt you back, at some stage.

Hopefully he will, we don't mind the glory hunters coming back :D

I did it the other way round, a combination of falling out of love with football and moving away for a few years so I didn't go for a while, but ended up coming back in the 1st season in the 3rd and I've been here ever since.
Last season was worth all the others, trust me. Get yersen back Freddie! You'll love it again.

According to Wilder we're going for it this season . He clearly believes we won't be simply making ends meet . If he's happy with it , and let's face facts here , he's better placed than any one on this forum to judge whether we are in a position to have a real go at the division or not , it's good enough for me .

Opinions are opinions though and we're all entitled to them .

I'll stick with Wilders views on the matter at hand though :)

Okie dokes, we'll see what happens. I really hope he and you are right

Just seen that tweet on FB. Not sure if it's legit but assuming it is it's not a shock that there's been a response.

I expected FTFC to make a comment as well tbh.

Jerome calling bullshit on this.

I wonder who's advised him to tweet that?

Just checked his Twitter feed.
Not one supporting message. Not a single one.
Pelters from Blades, Liverpool and Watford fans.

Also significant that he doesn't tweet much, judging by his timeline.

But then he seldom plays football so has fuck all to celebrate.

Still. He's getting a wedge for training and keeping in shape, so who am I to criticise.
