I'm sure there's a termination clause in the contract that has a huge financial penalty.Should have been a man and rolled up and signed the contract off his own bat and then told his agent to go and do one.

I wonder who advises the player to sign a contract with an agent......I'm sure there's a termination clause in the contract that has a huge financial penalty.
And, sadly, how incapable modern players are, of putting one foot in front of another, without some avaricious, cigar-smoking leech pulling their strings.
I don't think you do get the technology. You use the handles according to the platforms you're using. It would frankly look decidedly amateurish on BR's part if they were to tweet about a Twitter user and not use that user's handle.
What that article and video tell us is
;
Wilder is such a decent honest bloke any player would be mad not to want to play for him. He has assessed his team and identified the weakness as lack of pace and had 3/4 options to address it.
;
Devante Cole for 200k and add ons is exactly the right sort of money for a player at his stage of development. Wilder is genuinely spending the owners money like it's his own/ours.
;
Jerome Sinclair I felt so sorry for him sat at the train station waiting to sign. But you would think if you had been linked with a club for a week you would have at least done some youtube research on that club. Not to know anything about us, the way we play etc Says either he just wants to play football or he is just chasing the money!
Finally agents are crippling the futures of young footballers and seem happy to manipulate clubs last minute. So glad we didn't fall for it and that Wilder is worth his weight in gold for sticking to his and our principles!
Very finally this transfer window closing when it has has done us no favours Burton beat a crap Birmingham and when we play brum they have a whole new squad Inc. Jota and the opposite to that when Burton play Brentford they won't be the same team we beat, now they've been asset stripped.

Not sure how many have seen this yet, but thought it's worth its own thread.
Just a fascinating and rare insight. Wilder comes out of this really well IMO. So calm when it must have been so infuriating.
Can't be allowed by FA/FIFA surely?It basically confirms the Sinclair (and subsequently Quina) deal fell through purely because the agent demanded his fee was doubled at the last minute, after everything had been agreed.
That's just shocking. Hope the greedy cunt's proud of himself.

Yep. I understand the technology. But if they are tweeting about the club, they should call us Sheffield United ... and bollocks the "twitter name". When did we become a club ? 1889 or 2010 ?
See Decs post.
It's not Wilder's 'substantial budget' to spend, is it? If he caves at agents bumping up the cost, Mr McCabe might be dead cross.

Should he cave in?

I agree that it would read better if they said "behind the scenes at Sheffield United @SUFC_Tweets".
Just as they would put if it wasn't clear from the twitter name who they were referring to (and it isn't always)
Should he cave in?
Of course he should,just to satisfy a bloke who never attends matches and only surfaces when we lost 2 matches on the trot this season
It depends on the value of the player to the club. If Cole is the key to what we lack, then that is what game changing investment is about. The ability to acquire players at cost to win. Obviously, Wilder reckons he s not worth that extra stretch. We'll see. I don't doubt if McCabe gave him the go ahead, he'd close the deal and have the player.

No problem accommodating the money-grabbing, dishonest leeches known as agents, then? With somebody else's money, naturally.
Tufty didn't ask McCabe for the go-ahead. His look of part surprise; part disgust said it all. He and Carl immediately agreed "No chance. That's the end of it". Indeed Schreiber actually commented that he wasn't even going to ask the board and CW didn't suggest he should.
McCabe only figures in this narrative to those who hold the agenda dear.

On the twitter Sheffield United go by the @sufc_tweets name because @ sufc (but without the gap so I don't tag a member on here) was taken by a Blades fan. It was a tweet about Sheffield United, so they used their twitter name.
Yours, is it?On that topic, I think the club should buy the SUFC Twitter name. A life time season ticket would be a fair price, I think.
