I've always thought that you can tell a lot by player interviews.

Compare how DCL interviewed vs. how Che Adams did and you can see why one is in the Premier League and playing for his country and the other is not.

Good head on his shoulders and seems like a smart lad to boot.

Then again, Leon Clarke interviews terribly and he's not done too bad.
 
Seems like the model pro. Just hope we get to the Prem as soon as possible, so he can come home to the Lane before Allardyce ruins him.
 
He seems to be doing well up there and in the England set up...GLTTL...again!

Leon’s one of the best in the United squad
 



I bumped into him when I was working at an Everton match last season.

Told him I was a Blade.

His eyes lit up. Asked me how I was over there etc.

He said he was gutted he couldn’t get a promotion at the Lane

Top lad with feet still firmly on the ground

It's not really important and I don't actually give a fuck - just said that I've always thought you can tell a lot from how someone interviews.

Personally think he comes across poorly and struggles to answer the questions without just repeating the question. Struggles to put a coherent sentence together. Lack of enthusiasm in his voice too. Not looking for an argument about it, just my opinion.

Still love him because of what he's done on the pitch.

Fair enough mate. Each to their own.

I've personally always thought his outward demeanour can be a little dour, but when you listen to what he says he comes across quite humble and considered.

Been watching Everton vs Arsenal this afternoon. Really end to end game, especially in the second half.

One of Everton's star performers has been Calvert-Lewin, really stood out in a good Everton side and think he got the sky MoM also.

Hold up play is exceptional: his touch has been good and he looks incredibly strong. He did a fine job of keeping the ball, and linked up well with the rest of the team when they were under pressure.

One moment of naivety was when Everton had a 3 on 3 around 65mins: If he'd have made the right decision it would have put the game to bed. You feel like as he develops, and his decision making improves, he could potentially be one of the best centre forwards outside the top 6.

Hope he carries on improving at this rate. If he does, we can likely expect another sell-on windfall in the future. :)

I also watched it and agree with you about Calvert-Lewin. He looks better every time I see him play. Just needs to start adding more goals to his game.

Good to see Jagielka still doing the business at the ripe old age of 36.

I think the goals will flow for DCL if he makes better decisions in the final third, as there's nothing wrong with his finishing.

And as for Jagielka; just goes to show what a good athlete he is. Not many can continue much past 30 at the highest level, let alone 36.
Also made 356 PL appearances for Everton, very impressive.

I watched the 2nd half and concur with the above. He also looks to be confident, he was very vocal in a couple of defensive free kick positions, shouting “attack the ball” with a lot of senior pros around the place. Shows confidence in his position as a now first teamer in a mid table PL side.
 



Dom's always had the attributes that have been correctly pointed out by Chali 2na. That's why I was so gutted when he left. People should consider that he only started playing up front at 16 under Nick Cox's tutelage. He's just turned 22, but he's a very young 22 as he's only been a striker for a few years. When this board almst unanimously wrote him off he'd only been a striker for a couple of years, after playing primarily in centre midfield and occasionally on the wing before that.
You can see it in his game at times, particularly in his movement. He needs games at any level, that's the way to develop his weaknesses. That and good coaching. When to arrive in the box, and when and where make the movements for through balls are key to his development. His pressing is good, his link play is excellent, he holds the ball up really well, runs the channels well and is great in the air.. Everton obviously think a lot of him: he's on his third contract already.
