DCL and Che

It's an easy explanation. In Adams' case he thought Sheffield United was beneath him from the outset, hence his shit attitude and refusal to train properly. That's why he showed only brief flashes of quality. But showed just enough to get noticed.

But that's all I have to say about him. Players mean nothing to me unless they are our employees and we no longer employ him.
Nothing makes me cringe more than reading "good luck to the lad" posts whenever somebody leaves.

Good luck to the lad ;)

I'm not arguing whether the deal is good or bad and I'm not having a pop at the club. What interests me is that we have 2 players that if we are being kind, divide opinion. Yet Brum paid for Che, he has played and scored. DCL I cannot for the life of me understand the logic of the money involved also, there is no continuity because based on ability shown Che has proven a lot more than DCL. His brace against Spurs and his goals last season show he has something.

Neither of these players are in our first team, a team that is struggling in its own division. So you can argue they are both shit based on that. Because there is little doubt we are shit.

Or there is another option. No one at our club had a clue with the first team and these players have been offloaded when they could have been a part of a better promotion team.
Well my guess is that they've both been signed on the basis of potential and Everton think DCL has the potential to play in the PL but he's very much an unknown quantity above L2 level.
Che is deemed to have less potential as he's further down the line in terms of development but proven at a higher level.

But there isn't much logic to it.

The reasons we've sold them are financial more than football although maybe in Che's case CW doesn't like his attitude. In DCL's case, I personally think you have to let them have their dream move. If it was another L1 club we'd tell them to piss off and I doubt he'd be bothered as they couldn't offer much that we couldn't, either financially or for his development but to deny him a move to the PL, big money and the chance to work with top pros, is wrong and counterproductive.

Or we know how good they are, know we need the money and therefore don't play our money players through fear of losing out.

Look at Diego....I bet McCabe has palpitations that he could have sold him just before injury for good money and then ended up with feck all. Those few million could have paid towards the wages for a season of over the hill dross.

There's so much money in the PL now that clubs can afford to take a gamble on a dozen players like DC-L - if one or two make it, then they'll get most of the money back selling on to Man C, Man U or Chelsea. Everton will probably loan him out straight away.
I sit next to a Chelsea fan at work - they have sent 2 or 3 players out on loan today that he's never heard of!

Adams ..... good riddance and thanks to the stupid twats at Brummagen for 2 million ..... 2 ..... fuckin ..... million :D:D:D:D

I'm not , however , pleased with DCL going though . Poor business imo .

When all said and done though , I still can't fathom why a lot of Blades still question this kind of transfer activity .

6 years in this shit league and we are skint , potless, brassic , strapped for cash . This means we sell . What's so hard to understand ???

The SS reporter actually at Everton is now stating that the fee is under £1m RISING to £1m, not the £1.4m or £1.5m previously reported.

UTB

Some of us seem to be mis-remembering Che as never getting near the first team. He was pretty regular last season. Just not under the 1 game he played for Wilder.

At the end of the day, young talent, which we should be building round, has once again left our club. But hey - we have Bash and Hussey.

Think 1.4 million for DCL is fantastic myself.

Not when you consider the money PL clubs have. That sort of fee was being paid for young English players with potential 5 years ago.

He will probably never play for Everton and will be sent out on loan a lot but we could have easily held out for more. Other clubs would have.

The upfront fee will be less than 1 million. If the reported amount is 1.4 then that is the absolute maximum it will rise to.

Would imagine up front is probably less than 500k.

Che would walk in to our starting 11 now, absolutely no question about it.

People saying other wise are kidding themselves.

Based on what I've seen of dcl, the money we are getting is insane.
