Davies or O'grady?

Holt runs around like a headless chicken (similar, but less effective than scoogs) and does absolutely nothing.
You asked someone earlier in the thread if they went to games then went on to say this above, which this season is incorrect to say the least. Scouggs, although i like him, has not played well or affected anything this season in general. Since Holt has been here he has almost scored against Bristol City, which created Dones' goal, he has also nearly scored on 3 other occasions and created more chances in his very limited playing time than Scouggs has done all season so i cannot agree with this assertion FB.

ok, perhaps a tad harsh - still don't see a dominating midfielder player that we need. If Wallace is just a week away, he is going to walk into the midfield - just hope he can stay fit. As for Holt, just another small, tries hard player - seems to mimic what we have.

He doesn't answer the problem of how, we as a club, can dominate midfield, even on our own patch. I constantly see numerous teams coming down here and giving us the run around.

The solution for me is : Basham and Wallace, with Doyle sitting in front of kennedy and .....Brayford (after what NC said today) or Mceverly - seems like the makings of best of a bad bunch.

Which of that midfield would get forward?

I'd prefer to see a pair of Basham/Doyle/Wallace/Coutts behind Baxter/Scougall/Holt with two wingers to give us real balance.

In a proper midfield with players who have intelligence, they both get forward, but not at the same time.

If a team has 2 quality centre halves (with pace) that push up to the half way line then both can go forward.

Sadly not in this division, but football is very simple if played the right way.

If I mention Sidwell and Harper in their Reading days - both of those could do everything required.

IMO, Basham and Wallace can both play, can get forward, can tackle and would give us a strong core.
