It isn't a blunder …… it's Tufty pulling another rabbit from the hat and delivering a top 6 showing whilst receiving a bottom 6 budget.

If we had ambitious owners who had spent a modest amount of money on squad improvement in the Summer, we would probably be a few points clear at the top now with a much stronger squad than we currently have. ;)

And before the worshippers of McCabe rip me a new one …...I'm not suggesting spending tens of millions of pounds and ruining the Club o_O

I'm suggesting carefully targeted re-investment of the substantial transfer income that we received, which has not been used due to our owners having their "fall out". I think Tufty can be trusted with a few quid to be fair as his transfers haven't all been a success but many have turned out well :D

UTB & FTP
This all day long..... we’ve been lucky with Chris, Chris and Knill have single handedly held this club together, can you imagine the turmoil, if we were struggling, there would be uproar and deservedly too...Mcabe isn’t blameless, he put HIMSELF in this situation, through poor legal advice....and let’s be honest yeah he’s put money in, but how many other suitors has he turned away...it’s no coincidence that we’re probably the biggest club not yet to have a fulll takeover...

How would they do it?

Are you stupid, ST? When the sell on money was due to be paid into the club’s bank account, you’d send them the right details, and then at the last minute, you’d send them details of your account. Trousering the lot. You’d then quickly transfer the money out to another account, and act all innocent. You’re not a man of the world, like what I am. ;)

Hypothetically you could award massively over the odds contracts for the game videoing, catering etc etc to companies who you may hypothetically own, alledgedly.

Which would involve either buying a business or setting up and funding one :)

For what? Which of them own companies of the type you mention?
I've no idea exactly how many or what type of companies our joint owners have, or whether or not they're already linked to the club, I'm just relaying what happened at Blackpool.

The owners and their transactions with the club are declared in the accounts.

Still not sure what you're getting at :)

Ultimately, the Oyston's were caught out because of some out of the ordinary payments which showed up in the accounts. All I'm saying as that it wouldn't be difficult for an unscrupulous owner to cyphon off funds into their own companies which would look perfectly acceptable in the accounts.

In our case siphoning off large amounts of money - as expenses - would create a loss. Which would need funding. Catch 22 surely?

Whatever anyone thinks about either of our owners, I doubt they are like the Oystons.

OK, so I can't spell siphon :)

It wouldn't be a loss if you suddenly got a £100M windfall, for whatever reason that might happen :)

My comment was based on the thought they would siphon the money off. “Trouser the lot” (by another poster)

For every debit, there’s a credit. It simply doesn’t work.

Company A (owned by owner) do the video's for the club for, say £500K a year. We go up, Company A increase their fees to £5M a year, there's budget for it, no problem. This obviously wouldn't happen in reality with us but it has elsewhere.

I agree with you in that there is no comparison to Blackpool in terms of the set up or the owners but it is a way of 'siphoning' money legally if you were that way inclined.
