He is on a pay per play basis - we pay Brentford for every game he plays over the length of his contract.
If plays every game it would add up to £4m. There was a down payment apparently but not substantial.

So, needlessly announced as a record signing then...

Where does it say that

Below ,you are suggesting that today's board would sell Deane and agana after ten games for a third of what when a was sold for and a tenth of whether she was sold for in an era where the manager used to have to put his hand in his own pocket to buy players

Out board now subsidise the club for between 5 and ten million a season

Quite sad that if we could have 1988 all over again Brian Deane and Tony Agana would have got about 10 games each for us before being flogged for the massive sum of £250,000 for a third division player

At some point we're going to run out of players with sell-on clauses. How is the club going to be financed when all these windfalls stop?

Either with promotion or by the consistent quality of youth coming out of the academy.

That's not was intended,
Previous boards were even worse than this one

It was a throwaway comment, a laugh, taking the piss

Some got it, some sensitive souls didn't

Are you the caller that sometimes phones RS up and asks....."Where's Muney Gone"

Errrr ….. nope

I'm just somewhat pissed off that our "ambitious owners" are wasting time swinging handbags at each other whilst a great opportunity to progress the Club stagnates due to lack of financial support for a very astute and capable manager.

Very disappointing indeed :(

Could be top Friday night, can't do better than that, unless you think we should be promoted already like Rusty Rovers.

Is being 3rd in the championship a blunder ?

It isn't a blunder …… it's Tufty pulling another rabbit from the hat and delivering a top 6 showing whilst receiving a bottom 6 budget.

If we had ambitious owners who had spent a modest amount of money on squad improvement in the Summer, we would probably be a few points clear at the top now with a much stronger squad than we currently have. ;)

And before the worshippers of McCabe rip me a new one …...I'm not suggesting spending tens of millions of pounds and ruining the Club o_O

I'm suggesting carefully targeted re-investment of the substantial transfer income that we received, which has not been used due to our owners having their "fall out". I think Tufty can be trusted with a few quid to be fair as his transfers haven't all been a success but many have turned out well :D

Nope …… I don't advocate throwing ridiculous amounts of money and wages at average players like HMS Piss-the-league have done ….. ;)

I advocate financially supporting the best and most effective manager we've had for a long time with a budget that gives him a realistic chance of achieving promotion ( funded by existing sales and transfer windfalls) and then following the Burnley model. Modest investment staggered over a period of a few years and not like Fulham with most of the team changed and disaster following …..

We could have spent the academy money on the first team and pushed on.
