Luke Freeman - another one we could've signed if we had any idea and any ambition.

Dave Edwards would surely be a good player for us but he's another late twenties Championship player who'd be on big wages. We can't carry on going for players like that. We need to realise that it's usually worth paying a bigger fee for younger players from our division or lower and saving on the wages.

Luke Freeman - another one we could've signed if we had any idea and any ambition.

When I spoke with our former chairman about us signing Marlon King, we also discussed signing Luke Freeman (as an example), this was at the time we had Weir as manager.

I was told that he had been one of the players offered to the manager, but the problem was that whilst he was a good player, managers don't always look to the future. Managers know that their life at a club is finite, so why buy players for the future when they may not be there themselves, so its about balance for them. I think Freeman can along at the right price for the club, but the wrong time.
