Lmfao s5 blade, quality,im always proud of been a blade but this makes me feel even better

It's like lee strappon on acid! What an idiot. Yes he may have put up the cash for players, he may also run the club. But he employs a manager, decent one at that to pick the team, buy the players and coach them.

Sometimes you come up against better sides. Posh have punched above their weight for years. But just because they now have expensive players doesn't guarantee success.

Personally I prefer chairmen to run the club rather than tweeting nonsense.

This rant of his doesn't add any value. If he wants to see how a senior person at a club should use social media, look at our Jim

Spot on, he even beat Foxy with the Goal Update for our first yesterday.
At which point all foxy can do is trudge out the same old tired excuses (poor data connection, filming the goal et etc)
:D

They don't look like a club who will be in the top 6 at the end of the season...

It really may have ramifications for the dressing room. The Chairman is the ultimate employer. It could either be a kick up the backside or it could give the players a feeling of nervousness about being singled out. So having a look over their shoulder effect. "Should I pass it or is the chairman going to go on about it on twitter" etc. It could go either way. Also it was a swipe, big style, at the manager. That doesn't look good to the playing staff if the chairman is openly criticising his manager. It puts the players on edge if it is as obvious as this that the Chairman does not respect the manager. It also makes the manager a lame duck as why would you do what a guy most probably on his way out says?

This all bodes well for the clubs immediately below Posh, as it is a self destruct Chairman rather than a Chairman holding his nerve. He is one of those chairmen that puts ex amount into a club and therefore thinks this entitles him to promotion, not realising that footballers are people not machines. Posh hasn't got the sort of infrastructure that large clubs have or the pull that big clubs have (as we saw with McDonald and wolves and the other way with Scoogs and Livi) to entitle it to promotion, and its not just the first team that get you promotion you need the strength and depth n squad that we demonstrated last night. I thought Posh were nailed on for 6th now I think they are going to struggle to keep it. It could go the other way and galvanise Posh, however if I was playing for them I would be looking over my shoulder.

Another thing. I've noticed a pattern over the past few games. All the clubs playing against us have complained of themselves playing poor. It has become a pattern. I just think we do a great job stopping them playing. I hope Charlton fans have similar complaints come 13.50 on Sunday.

It's not how long it is

It's what you do with it that counts

(possession stats - obviously)

:D

Over a year later and the posh not having a great start to the season, he is already once again bickering with fans. Not quite in Lee Strap On mode again just yet.

Although he is happy it seems to offer refunds on season tickets.

I think letting on how much he has spent on some of his squad is never a smart thing to do as a owner. He was saying similar last year.

If you have time to waste there is more on his twitter profile: https://twitter.com/DMAC102

I am glad our Jim avoids most of these pointless online conversations with fans.

In another thread someone said he had been supporting Oyston for bringing stability.

Darragh MacAnthony is a top bloke . Says it how it is . His club , his money , his passion. Has a right to be fucked off , but in the modern game , it is not PC . However the lesson learnt -

Money does not buy automatic promotion.

Some will only realise how good McCabe has been for SUFC , when he has gone.

The board and manager are leading us (after decades of failure ) , in the right direction.

Find it quite amusing of other clubs issues , and not us for once. JP a good catylist .

I hope not, if he has the same mindset as them Boro could end up in L2.

I agree with some of that but he tends to bicker with the fans rather than keep it in the club and make his feelings known to the players. What good is going on about how much he has spent on the squad to fans on twitter of all places? Then publicly offering refunds to fans as well.

It's the players and management that are letting him down at the moment not the fans and if he thinks the Oystons are setting a good example of running a club then god help him.

The problem is , he is States bound and based most of the time . This can create issues of shooting from the hip like RS callers , and people on the forum , complaining about a performance , when they haven't even been to the match.

We were heading into the abyss under sole ownership of McCabe before he stumbled across the prince in London before a Chelsea game.

Possibly McCabe's redemption because if that hadn't have happened we would have been in lg2 like Pompey (without the cup, premier league years and Europe)

We're further down the football pyramid than when he came in, if that was a manager you would say he had failed. Got out of jail if you ask me if this comes off.

Two sides to every story , but i have got to admit McCabe , with all his good intentions , has not helped himself.

We have to remember that in the past we have had boards and chairman , who have used SUFC for there own financial gain. With the financial crash in 2007 / 08 , McCabe not only kept his own businesses afloat , but also the blades. Banking instituations and funders were knocking on the door , and the easiest route would have been to put SUFC in administation. PGs and cross company gurantees kepts us afloat . IMO McCabe in a perverse sort of way has been good for United , and lets hope , if or when , the Prince takes full control , he does not loose interest

The McCabe family still unites or divides fans opinions , but like you say bringing the prince on board has certainly helped us and him.

IMO the McCabe family have done more good than bad , and not all owners are life long fans , abeit this can cloud your judgement on occasions.

UTB.

The real facts are that we were a poor championship club when McCabe became owner he happened to stumble onto a manager who was perfect for the club at that time Neil Warnock, like him or loathe him (the latter for me) he dragged us up by the bootlaces and things only went a little pear shaped when McCabe gave him money to spend. Since the day we were relegated from the premiership McCabe has been an utter disaster for SUFC letting Robson piss away parachute payments even the £20m Tevez cash was never seen again, failed ventures in China, Hungary, Belgium, Australia and Brazil etc, appointing and quickly sacking shit manager after shit manager selling our best players every summer, yeah we even did it again this season our fifth in league one. The hotel and business centre has been separated from the club and do nothing to fund the team even the stadium and academy have been spirited away and are rented to the club. Just how anyone can say McCabe has done more good for SUFC is a joke in itself.

Darragh McAnthony: reyt penis.

Difference between him & Jim (one of a great many differences, but this is a big one):
Jim's retweets are all to do with the good of the club & nowt to do with boosting his own ego.
McAnthony's retweets seem to be all along the lines of: "Darragh, I love you, you're amazing. I don't know how you put up with all your many critics: they're all bellends, & you're a total god. Everything you say & do is magical. You've never done anything wrong, ever, in all your life...", etc, etc, etc.

The bloke is a ridiculous egomaniac.

Please flesh this one out for me because I'm really struggling here.
Probably referring to the time and immense amount of money the McCabe family has invested in the club. We would have been in administration without this support. I have met KM on several occasions; he is a proper Blade and a nice bloke.

Would we? Sorry but if McCabe had got it really right at the right time we wouldn't be having this conversation. True he didn't get it all wrong but to say we should think ourselves lucky to have him after the past 8 years made me feel physically sick.

I throw my hat over several people who are nice blokes and proper blades but that wouldn't make me want them as Chairman.

Dragging up a VERY old thread here but he's now on his podcast threatening supporters/people commenting on his ownership tenure with libel lawsuits if they keep saying he's pocketing money from the club/player sales

...in the same rant where he says he's been taking money in and out of the club for over a year?
