This is true. If he seems fast/sharp/fit enough, he's a class above the Championship.

I guess with Ings providing he passes his medical the contract will be a simple either 2 or 3 year deal. With Mee with him being a few years older, there will be things to work out in the sense of is it a 1 year plus option to extend a straight 2 year etc. Personally I hope we get them both as their combined experience in the dressing room will be invaluable

I don’t get the negativity about this one. We need experience. He’s same age as Moore. He’s been a premier league player most of his career.

He’s a free transfer. Not much risk to it

Only risk is he’s another Davies / Shackleton.

I don’t get some of our supporters. We had people clambering to offer Brewster a new deal and try to get McBurnie back on £30k a week. Yet we don’t want to sign someone who is vastly better and has done it at a much higher level than both of these because there’s an (incorrect) perception he’s always injured.

Those 2 spent more time on the physio bench than they did on the pitch but because Ings is 33 we don’t want him?! McBurnie moved like a 33 year old when he was 13 and has got less mobile since.

I doubt they’re the same people.

Ings would be our best forward if he signed, just as Mee would be our best centre half. It’s highly unlikely that they play 44 games but they’re better than anything we have or are likely to sign before Monday.

I haven't got views from Burnley purely because it was so long ago I'm not sure he's that player anymore

Perhaps we are looking at Ings because we have missed out on other players due to pissing about having a pillock running the rule over transfers for most the transfer window.

It’s been a problem for a while and remains a problem while ever we persist on using the loan market as the main source of incomings. We need players in who we know will be here for a couple of years at least, and form the backbone of the squad.
Then once you’ve sorted that then look at loans to get a couple or three marquee signings to get fans off their feet.

So far, we’ve brought in nothing much of note…Godfrey perhaps the only one that looks an upgrade on what we have.

I think a good deal for all would be 1 Year + 1 Year option maybe based on appearances.

The issue is we are pretty despearte so might lose our bargaining power and end up with longer...
