That’s been a lot of fun to watch, and I’d forgotten a lot of that season. I can remember watching the Blackburn game where David Kelly beat Alan Kelly with that bizarre goal, yet completely forgot about Devlin’s thunderous effort. Also very odd seeing Kelly vs Tracey in the same match.

Despite having flogged some of our best talent that season, we somehow nearly made the playoffs. Some cracking goals that season too, plenty of which had some simple but decent football leading up to them, with Devlin at the heart of most. Some would have you believe the football was awful in those years...
