Would be one for the academy but given how successful we’ve been with Peck and Lankshear from Arsenal I’d hope we’re taking a look. He’s 17 scored 20 goals last year for Arsenals 18’s. Arsenal want to keep him and have made him an offer but it seems he wants out and Palace and Norwich seem to have thrown their hats into the ring for him so far but it wouldn’t hurt to make an approach for him ourselves given we can point to two recent direct examples when highly rated players swapping Arsenal for S2 has significantly benefitted their careers.

Gone to Palace was always his most likely destination they’ve got some players coming through now. Spent big on the new academy a few years ago and they’re recruiting to go with it. That might actually be the most tangible asset a new Cat 1 academy would bring us the ability to pitch to players at the big Manchester and Liverpool academies who are prospects that their clubs want to keep but might feel their pathways blocked. That they could come here have a clearer pathway but without a massive drop off in facilities. I know we have done it at time in the past and recently with the lad from Liverpool this summer but it might increase our chances to do it moving forward.
