Remember a trip way back when we went onto Blackpool for the night and a syco mob attacked our coach while the big lads we're still out on the pull............. On the way out of Blackpool we met em. Fookin he'll it were like the Alamo.

There is an enthusiastic senior member of "Wednesdayite," whose father . an avid Blade failed in his duty to influence the girl. He left her football education to his father in law who converted her to the dark side, as he had once tried to convert me some years before. My father had warned him before going off to war what would happen should he find me anything other than a Blade on his return. I do recall being taken to Owlerton by my uncle , he said that he had kept his promise to my father and that he had only taken me there to see the Blades. Now I do realise that the Lane was bombed but, could my uncle be telling the truth about the Blades ground sharing for a time? If so those games would be my first to see tha lads.

We did indeed play at Hillsborough for the last few games of the 40-41 season after BL was bombed.

Well it started for me in 1982 (I was 13) when Blades came to my local club Peterborough United in the 4th Division when both teams were pushing for promotion. It was a night game and I distinctly recall that night as if it was yesterday. I was overwhelmed by how many fans came down for the game and how far they were willing to walk - many coaches stopped just off the A1 leaving the Blades fans to walk the remaining 4 miles. Blades made up 7000-8000 of the 13,000 crown and everything about the 4-0 display oozed class. There was no turning back for me and as soon as I had a car in 1987/88 season I started attending regularly. Saturdays for me were drive up to Sheffield (100 miles), go to the game, drink copious amounts of beer (normally in the Leadmill), sleep in the car, wakie up tired, emotional and cold before driving home. Happy days.

twofoot was born to be a blade .dad was and still is a blade .he took me from about 68 used to sit me in the boozer corner with pop and crisps while he drank with his steelworker mates ,me looking on as all these rough sorts talked footy ,then onto the kop standing in front of the barrier on the walkway .hodgy badger. jones .then woody currie salmons and all my heros.later in life going with all the beighton lads (bit naughty ).all the fun of the 70s early eighties ,from skin head to mod to casual.funny the blades allways had style . proud to say me my father my missis and when my daughter is home from uni never miss a home game .remember the fat lad with red face and funny clothes will allways be a grunter .
