CW's toughest job this season will be in January

I sense we'll get a lot of interest in our players. CW will have a job on his hands keeping this squad together, this squad is pure quality and heads will be starting to turn above now.

Will he fuck.

The only reason any of our players would ever consider leaving is someone offering £100k+ a week and there's sweet Felicity Albright Tufty can do in those circumstances...

We were in the top half in 2007 but we still went down. Of course its a good result, but its only a good result if it helps us stay up and if we lose players in January we will struggle. That's not being negative, just realistic.

That's being depressingly negative. Why the fck would your neurones fire in such an order after today ?

Looking to the future, if we lose 2-3 of this squad and end up going down this result is insignificant. Brilliant first 11 games but we must keep this squad together for the entire season!

Not looking for issues, just being realistic. Joint best defence in the league after 11 games, of course there is a real possibility we may lose some of that back 5.
Needless post mate, watch the highlights again tonight and enjoy yourself. These are fantastic times to be a Blade, take all the positives from it and bin the negatives.

Rubbish how? When did a side come up from League One to the Prem in 3 years and after 11 games have the joint best defensive record in the league, playing a unique style such as we are? You seriously think other teams won't come sniffing at that when you've got teams like Man Utd/Tottenham/Arsenal leaking goals like crazy. They'll all be in the market for better defenders, and statistically we have the best defenders in the league.
You’re forgetting/ ignoring some key points

money - the tv deal now is that big that no club in the top league needs to sell
Loyalty - yes it exists in footballers.
team unit - the team is greater than the sum of its parts
Ambition - were a club on the up and if were in a similar position at Christmas to now, you’ll see us invest not sell. Why? Because the risk of investing is lower than that of failing.

But arguably, if we were to sell someone and make a profit, we could reinvest that money in improving our squad in the way we have done when we’ve sold ramsdale, DCL, Che, Brooks during the wilder years.

if the biggest thing on your mind tonight is who we’ll sell in jan you’ve clearly been in a coma or lost in space the last 4-5 years

There Won’t be a fire sale in jan.

Have you heard anything? i know you're ITK.

All I know is there is a lot of interest in joc and Egan already..... I'm guess only mega bucks offers if they are going to leave.... Plus we will need to have replacement in place first[/QUOTE]

We are in the premiership we dont need to sell....and if we do sell we can do a Leicester and get absolute top dollar for our players....50m for JOC or Egan...maybe we sell...40m for Lunny...ok go on then.

I'm more interested in who we might bring in....heady times to be a Blade

where would they go and get first team football that is better?

The defensive performances are more due to a collective effort that individual brilliance,

If Arsenal or Man U signed O’Connell or Egan, it wouldn’t solve their defensive problems. They’d need to bring Wilder with them!
No need for any of that tonight....lets not do the scouting job for em ey!

I think quite the opposite. We may sign in January to strengthen further...

Nowadays the top clubs concentrate on Summer recruitment a lot more than on January recruitment.

I find it hard as to why anyone would want any of our players as everytime I watch them theres no fluidity its all stop start pause and buffer ........

True only the teams struggling...... Tottenham / man utd/ arsenal..... Maybe man City if there defence either keep getting injured or they need to buy..... Maybe we will see how committed the Prince if to us

At the moment I can't see any of the top 6 teams wanting our players. They are not foreigners so won't be on their radar.

Further down the league - the Bournmouths, Burnley's, wouldn't be interested either. As they tend to shop higher champ or abroad.

Maybe if JoC or Egan continue to play well then I can see Man Utd or Leicester looking at them next ore season.

I think our biggest challenge will be to match the ambition of our manager.

no problem.. Wilder will just go and buy some more.. he’s probably got them earmarked already

and we’re above them anyway

Don't think this is an issue tbh. Wolves, Burnley, Bournemouth all had very good seasons. How many of their players were bought by bigger clubs?

Same place Danny Drinkwater went for "first team football"....

Money talks and yes, if JOC/Egan, or any of our players were offered daft money to sit on a bench every Saturday I'm 99.9% sure they'd take it.

Far from convinced myself. This is a bunch of players low in Ego and high in loyalty. Duffy (as much as I love him) didn’t fit that model. He’s gone. Silly money may talk but it would have to be one fucking huge offer in my opinion to even turn heads.

They still wouldn’t get in Wednesdays team because we’re in a false position and about to get found out - so I wouldn’t worry.

I wish to point out one very important thing.

No other team will have Chris Wilder as their manager.
And the simple fact is that Wilder has got these players and made them what they are. They respect him, love him, and would run through the proverbial wall for him.

So, where else would any of these players want to be thats better than us? Because let’s be right, only the biggest sides are really a better draw than us, where they are playing well and enjoying their football. And would Man City, Man U, Liverpool, Arsenal, Spurs...the ones with the mega bucks...really look at any of our lads??

Realistically not. Fleck May be close, but I don’t see any of the others just yet.

So as long as the club pay them fairly, and Wilder wants them I don’t see any of them going anywhere this January. They will all see out this season at least, and to be fair probably next too.

Anyone wants Enda it's £100m based on what Man U paid for that bpmb scare Bissaka

To see the joy on the players faces is such a pleasure for management and fans alike. I can't see any of them wanting to leave this team. It's definitely going places. The same goes for Wilder, now his plan is coming together.
My only concern is in your last sentence. Where will the money come from to buy in JTW? We know Prince has taken on an Aussie loan, but what is that for? New Players, Academy, Ground improvements, wages?
The saving grace for me is, no McCabe rubbing his hands at the thought of 50m for Egan, but maybe paying the players more to keep them at the Lane?

Imagine winning today and doing well and you post this! No one will leave nor will they want too. Plus KM had left.

Why dont you post your ITK rumours instead jason?

Tbh honest, I can only see really stupid money making a difference or possibly such as Liverpool in for O'Connell, childhood dream moves and even then I doubt it, it appears the players have really bought into wilder and sharp's love of the Blades, so unless it's Barca, Real Madrid or similar, I'd say we will strengthen not sell.
UTB and long may it continue that we speculate on our league 1 freebies and rejects moving to manure, citeh and sniverpool.
