Not interested in Sturridge.

What did he say? Obviously I'd like him replacing but I hope it doesn't come out of our striker budget.Pleased he's identified a replacement for JOC and given the recommendation to the Board.

Yep. I remember Peter Withe, Ian Rush and Porterfield's 'Dad's Army'. Sturridge is a big name but not the answer.
Withe was 34 when he joined us and Rush 37. Sturridge is only just turned 31, 3 1/2 years younger than Billy Sharp and a 1 3/4 years younger than McG. In any normal circumstances, I wouldn't want him, but in the current situation, i'd piggy back him from his house to BDTBL to sign for us on a 1+1 year deal.
He is more of a goalscoring threat than any of our current fit forwards and i'm not 100% convinced that we'll ever see Moose in a United shirt again.
He is on a free and manageable wages.
