Yep. I remember Peter Withe, Ian Rush and Porterfield's 'Dad's Army'. Sturridge is a big name but not the answer.

What did he say? Obviously I'd like him replacing but I hope it doesn't come out of our striker budget.
Robinson and Enda can cover if need be.
 
He wants two in one to replace JOC, the other obvs the striker. Seems like he still wants Brewster. It's in the hands of the board. I'd like to see Stevens in JOC's role with Lowe or Osborn at LWB and get in an attacking midfielder along with a striker. But in Wilder we trust.

Withe was 34 when he joined us and Rush 37. Sturridge is only just turned 31, 3 1/2 years younger than Billy Sharp and a 1 3/4 years younger than McG. In any normal circumstances, I wouldn't want him, but in the current situation, i'd piggy back him from his house to BDTBL to sign for us on a 1+1 year deal.

He is more of a goalscoring threat than any of our current fit forwards and i'm not 100% convinced that we'll ever see Moose in a United shirt again.

He is on a free and manageable wages.
 
that maybe & still feel it was good performance but if we dont score & is 0-0 then they are going to be dangerous

Thought Withe was decent for us...not great but unlike Rush at least he made a contribution.

Agrew about Sturridge....if the price/ contract is low/ performance based like it should be....then he‘s worth a punt.
However we‘d still need another striker because Sturridge could easily end up being a waste of time.

The great thing about Sturridge is he isn’t the poacher type and doesn’t need feeding like other strikers. He is able to score goals from nothing.

Yep he's a great player when fit that's the problem., when it!
 
Apparently Sturridge isn't interested in us either, has been quoted as saying " I don't want to play in the championship 😳
