Curry House for Saturday: Recommendations?

Fancy a curry after the game but dont know Bradford.

Anybody know a good one? When in Rome and all that
 



Agreed on BSC, you'll have to book & not sure on footie shirts. Aagrah, Akbars and Sheesh Mahal are bigger names and usually alright. Akbars is my preference. zouk good also.
 
Try the Kashmir in the city centre, but go downstairs in the cheapo section rather than the posher bit upstairs (i.e. go basement notground level).

Alternatively try the Sweet Centre on Lumley lane. Cheap and no alcohol licence but they let you bring a drink in from pub next door, although it was about 2 years since I went and back street pubs have a tendency to shut.

Finally, one unbelieveable back street pub is the Fighting Cocks off Thornton Road

Brilliant real ale pub. It is a City - fan pub so they could have restrictions on away fans.

I had a dose of the technicolour yawns after a visit to the downstairs Kashmir. It was my first year at uni though so I was drinking a lot of out of date milk at the time. Could have been that.

Go to Rios and have a Blastaway - party like its 1991.
 
been working in bradford last couple of years and tried the sweet centre it's ok - k2 has re-opened a few doors down after being closed some years & thought this was quiet a bit better
 
I wouldn't hang about in Bratfud any longer than I had to, match in, out afterwards, straight hooame. Reyt dump

You are forgetting he is going to watch the Blades play. Food poisoning is often a preferable experience. AS for where to go. Take pot luck, its part of the fun. Raul and I did that in Wakey last Saturday and it was good.

A taxi driver was once taking us to the Shapla. In my very inebriated, non-PC state I proceeded to ask him "Where do you lot go for a curry then?" Much to the horror of Mrs BB.
The taxi driver replied "Bradford".:D

Is Rios still there? Maestros is long gone and I think most of the other dodgy places down legrams lane have been flattened to provide student accomodation that meets the expected standards of the over-pampered lot these days - what's wrong with a plain brick room that just about fits a bed, wardrobe & table in?

Kashmir was the only curry house that made me ill in 5 years as a student there. But that doesn't really mean owt, as the chefs move around and one year a place can be crap and then be the best the following year.

There's one in an old methodist chapel just by the original morrisons that was THE place to go when parents were visiting & paying. This building here.
I reckon the Mumtaz on Great Horton Road has taken its place now.
When we're back over, we tend to go to Omar Khan's just up past the photography museum & ice rink. Very reliable. Most of the ones around the Alhambra, University & college are decent enough and I would assume still cheap. Just avoid 'Meat'

The Aagrah at Shipley is supposed to be excellent.

Head out towards Shipley for Italian. Can't remember the name of the place, but just before Saltaire there's a row of shops set back off Bradford Rd and it takes up most of those. There's a Spanish palce down by the canal in Shipley as well that's rather pleasent.
