Aye, but I'm sure when he first came he was a centre-back and played there a few times, before he was tried up front. Or is my memory playing tricks?

Darren Carr was next on my list

Williams and Carr both came from Newport,Carr a centre back, Williams a forward,Williams was never used as a defender to my knowledge.

As I said, memory not what it used to be. Not sure who I'm confusing him with. Darren will probably recall some centre-back that finished up centre forward.

I remember him. Never played for us though.

I actually thought he was pretty good in that brief loan spell, though I possibly only saw him once in a home game. I thought we wanted a longer term deal but couldn't make it happen.

I thought he was atrocious.

But then again, I didn't mind Axel Smeets, Jean Phillipe Javary or Luton Shelton wheras plenty thought they were amongst the worst we've had.

If it wasn`t for a lack of ability, Axel Smeets could have been a decent player

Smeets was dire. The other two had some good moments at least.
