Cup Trivia

What with it being cup week, me having a few spare minutes this afternoon and thinking about our fairly decent cup record in recent years, I decided to do a quick bit of research to see how good its been in the last 25 years. Going purely on teams reaching semis in both cups in that time, we rank equal 9th which I think is pretty damn impressive given we've only spent 3 seasons in the top flight in that time. Top ten is:

Arsenal - 21
Chelsea - 20
Man U - 18
Liverpool - 14
Spurs - 13
Villa - 10
Man City - 8
Blackburn - 7
BLADES
Everton
M'boro
Palace - all 6

Ahead of such teams as:
Newcastle (4)
South Barnsley Scrubbers (4) (bit surprised it was so many as I could only remember 93 for them)
Sunderland (3)
West Ham (3)

And some shocking records for others:

Southampton (2)
WBA (1)
Leeds (1)

I'd be surprised if we add to our total this year but if we do I just hope we win this time!
