I loved the Bradford fans chanting 'You fat bastard!' at Billy Sharp every time he touched the ball when at that stage he had scored the only goal of the match. Made them appear a right pack of twats.

I was at the ProAct the last week and they chanted the same thing at Ebanks-Blake. I think it might be the only chant in the song book.

Just after Sharps brilliant cross that Sammon somehow contrived to miss ,he hit with a coin ,instead of making a fuss ,he pretended to pocket it and gave a thumbs up to to Bradford tossers behind the goal. He was brilliant today ,just ahead of Hammond and Coutts.
Play it into his feet passes the ball well .

Worrying that you don't seem to see how what they were singing was racist.
I was on the kop and I didn't think they were actually singing ISIS. I thought they were singing what people usually sing at Bradford games, you know, the one beginning with P which no one is allowed to say, write, or even think about anymore in case the thought police come knocking at you door to take you away and throw you in room 101. I think singing that version may have been construed as racist but, come on, where does all this nonsense end?

I thought I heard a brief rendition of the p word version. No place for it. Or the ISIS one for that matter, regardless of whether it's racist or not.

There was a bunch of fans singing it at the back of the kop I was sat in the middle of the kop with a mate n we heard it for about 10 secs didn't hear any other racist stuff tho

My first match since Millwall sadly and I wore the xmas united hat :D - I will be repeating the formula for the posh game. Thoroughly enjoyed this afternoon. :)

Has ISIS become a race of people now? Or is it still just a depraved terrorist organisation?

How much.

Days like today make me realise how amazing our support can be and I don't mean the numbers. If only we could get behind the team more than the "bigger" games like Bradford, because it does make a huge difference. Of course we don't get much of a mention in the media for our support but maybe that's because we don't call ourselves the massive and self praise ourselves so much that other fans believe it too! ;-)
|Sorry but surely the fans cant take any credit for the victory. The fans had nothing to do with the defeats so .......

Any crowd can "sing when they're winning". Up until the goal Bradford outsung us but more importantly, round me fans were giving Done stick for some reason. When he went off injured they gave Sammon even more stick and frankly the lad's treatment at half time (just after that miss) was cruel; he was ridiculed and booed all the way off right in his face by the South Stand "supporters".. This is no way to support a team.

At the final whistle Sammon went straight down the tunnel, despite his goal. Whether he came back out I wouldn't know but as I was leaving he went straight off. That speaks volumes to me after such a great win.

Its cringing listening to the ironic cheers from parts of the crowd when he wins an header/completes a pass. Is this what some of our fanbase has become?

Great crowd, not so great support as usual. Less said about the boneheads at the back of the Kop the better.

Yes it is unfortunately. It can't be denied that a growing minority of our fans are utter fucking cunts who are no better than the Pigs in my eyes.
I used to have a 'We're all Blades together' attitude. Not anymore. After some of the things I've seen and heard this season, they can fuck off and croak it for all I care.

So when exactly was this holden era when our supporters were perfect gentlemen who cheered the opposition's good play and we're full of praise for even the most incompetent of our players?
Was it in the 60's when they were chucking acid, the 70's when every game was a mass brawl on the Kop or the 80's when only 9,000 used to turn up?

Can only go on my own experiences. Only recently in the past 20 years have I witnessed players being booed on to the pitch by their own fans, booed and abused by their own fans and witnessed "supporters" loudly proclaim that they hope one of our players (Stephen Quinn) breaks his leg so we don't keep playing him. That's before I even begin with the cuntish behaviour I see most home games, mostly coming from 16-18 year old scrotes who know nothing of the world let alone this club.
Doesn't matter what era it comes from. If I had the legislative power to keep those twats away from the club, I'd use it in a second.

Can we please drown out these utter pricks next week with a chant in support of Connor? I remember once a few years ago when Stephen Quinn was booed onto the pitch then the next game everybody roared him on over the top of these wankers. It's no doubt the same people

I sit on South stand just to side of our dugout but never heard anyone boo Sammon. Heard
People have a go when he wasn't jumping for
Headers which I thought was a bit off. He was the 1st down tunnel, didn't go towards kop was as though couldn't wait to get off pitch but he did clap the fans

Me too. They have a self-importance in inverse proportion to their intelligence. Hate-filled, foul-mouthed, barely literate scum.

I noticed that as well - wondered if he needed a piss.
Probably.

He didn't seem to have a problem when celebrating his goal or Edgar's for that matter.

Unless the club makes a statement, there is nothing whatsoever in this.

Nonsense? Where is the nonsense? Is it nonsense to condemn the small contingent singing “town full of Pakis”? Your posts read as if you think it should be acceptable to throw the word around.

I can’t believe the blasé attitude of some on here regarding overt racism from an albeit relatively small minority. I know that ignorant minority exists but am shocked by the number of people who want to just pretend it’s not happening or that it doesn’t matter.

Sorry Sitwel I disagree re the fans importance. I personally believe that the fans of any club can have a massive difference either positively or negatively. When the crowd is nervous and quiet and then grumbles at loose passes, then it transmits to the players. It definitely can effect players, particularly those that are low on confidence or are sensitive. On the other side are you saying that a really noisy Bramall Lane of over 25,000 that gets behind our team and cheers them on doesn't have a big impact on us or the opposition? We might not kick a ball or miss a shot etc but we do play our part, just ask the managers and players, hence opposition teams always try to kick towards the Kop first half to get it out of the way and then second half we're playing towards the away end. When on song, our Kop is so loud and inspiring, but too often this season and others in League One, we're quick to grumble and wait for the team to inspire, although its a two way process of course.
