Cricketers pub

Has anyone been in Railway recently...
I went in against Carlisle in cup ,it was a shadow of its former self .....
Not bothered since ....it was great when the previous owners had it .
Always had a soft spot for the Railway as it was my first pre match boozing haunt.

It’s horrendous now despite the blades decor, all the character been stripped out. More like a vape shop than a boozer.

At least it’s still a boozer though, unlike the Sportsman. No real passing custom on there away from match days.

Miss Sportsman. Used to go in there before matches..and having a kid.

Had some superb away days with them.

Always packed when we piled in and had to fight your way to the bar and grab some bottles, after paying of course!

The Stag is genuinely a hard mans pub. Can’t imagine the wet Cricks regulars being able to tackle one of these.

Way back when I first got a car, we used to park on Farm Road and go in the Royal Standard. Later on progressed to the Earl, but after that closed we now frequent the Sheafview. All good pubs in their own right with decent beer. To be honest nowadays, meeting up before the game with your mates and enjoying a few pints is more enjoyable than the actual game 😏.
Just old age or a sign of the times 🤔?

I had a couple of work colleagues over with me at the game today. Spent about an hour before kickoff in the cricketers and they loved it
