I am a bit worried that a lot of our budget is going to be spent on him apparently we are in talks? Is it me or has he hardly had a kick in a red and white shirt. I'd like to see a bit more of him before putting a contract on the table.

i was of the thinking that we'd already agreed to sign him for £500k so presume the talks now will kust be about wages.

However I am also concerned by this on the basis that he's not what we need, isn't worth any money at this stage of his career with no contract left and from what I can see nobody else interested in him.

The figure being quoted today is 500k, which if McCabes apparently giving a few million isn't a lot of our budget.

I think you really need to reign in your expectations in a big way. If we spend it will amost certainly be only as a result of selling. In McCabe's language, selling Cotterill and Killa and buying Cresswell is a significant investment in the improvement of our playing squad in line with set financial targets.

Not sure what this is about. Cresswell clearly stated when interviewed after his debut that a deal had been agreed and he was staying for, in the region of, 2 years. He has confirmed this to his friends in private as well.

Not sure what we're paying him but matching (or anywhere close to) what he was on at Stoke would put him firmly amongst our very top earners

Same valuation as Cotts then hhhmmmmm

This is what bothers me actually, whilst i will give Cresswell my full support i have to say that exchanging an international winger who has yet to pass his 22nd birthday (i think) for an aging utility player with a questionable fitness level is not a good deal in my opinion.

If Cressy was joining us without a fee and on a vastly reduced contract i would feel much more comfortable.

I'd imagine Cresswell to be on a higher wage too.

I'm in a catch 22 situation.

Obviously I want McCabe to release millions for new players however I become more certain that I want Blackwell out by the day.

Everything coming out of the club at the moment seems to point to the fact that he isn't the man to take us forward long term, I don't agree with his tactics and his attempts to take over the academy from Reid has really finished me off.
I know you only tend to hear when things are going badly at the club because people inside need to vent but this is becoming more and more frequent.

Sorry didn't mean to turn this into a Blackie out rant but I don't want us to waste the money we have by letting him sign more players who he won't use.

As I said catch 22.

Taking Cresswell on his own though I think he would be a good signing regardless of the man at the helm especially for that money. He has to agree to fit into the lowered wage bill though.
