Hasn't he got as many goals as Evans in half the games?

Hasn't he been given a consistent run of games?

How many goals has he made?

Why was I hoping for a picture of a sign to a village in Derbyshire?

Oh well.

;)

I don't like doing down the Chedinator but I see your point. Cresswell has scored (from memory) three goals which had they not gone in we'd have lost two games and been out of the cup. I quite like him, hard working, good touch and scores. Having said that, I don't think he's ideal on the left wing. Would prefer to see him upfront (or coming off the bench).

I agree with that. the only value he adds down the left wing is that when we're attacking down the right, he gets into the box as an extra foward.

Just for you:

Well I'm not too disappointed with this. I said I was quite happy when we signed him and he's done nothing to make me change my mind. He puts himself about, get stuck in, isn't as slow as you'd expect, has a decent touch and scores a few. He's never going to be fit for a full season but he's a decent addition to the squad.

Typical Blackwell signing. Works really, really hard but has very little footballing ablity. Is he better than what we have got? Absolutely not. Backwards step by United. Nice on Kev!?

Backwards step but its a sign of they way it is at the lane these days.

He said he'd signed on a permanent deal after he made his debut (v Ipswich?) when he was interviewed on Radio Sheffield and he was saying the same in private as well. Very strange that it's taken so long for us to make an official announcement unless of course we were waiting for the January window.

I'd be really interested to know what we're paying him as I know what he was on at Stoke and it was a lot.

I think that he has done enough in his time here already to earn a (low end) contract; my problem is that i don't think a player of his age and position (as an aging Stoke City reserve) should command any kind of fee. Obviously i have no idea what the fee is but if it's anything more then a hundred grand then i feel the money could have been put to better use personally.

The reaction to this signing, including my own feeling on it, reminds me a lot of when we signed Neil Shipperly.

A similar outcome would be very welcome :-)

I don't know what to make of this signing.

He's done 'ok' since joining on loan, got a couple of important goals, but from what I've seen of him his talent as a footballer isn't really that great. He's just workmanlike and can get into some decent positions from the left wing.

We'll need to sign some better players if we are to be promoted in my opinion.

Back onto the subject of cressy himself i just hope the undisclosed isn't 7 figures

Couldn't be any less inspiring.

OK back up target man, waste of space on left wing. Reminds me of Ade Lummox in his pointless chasing down of lost causes resulting in a nice round of applause and no end product.

eeeek....I'm not stalking you fella honest but.....

Surely lack of games can't be an excuse for Evans after this time? Maybe we don't play to his strengths, maybe (more likely) lack of basic ability, but number of games?

Being rapidly outscored by a winger that nobody wants to sign tells us nothing other than he's failing on all fronts right now.

I think I said consistent games i.e. not in the first team one week then dropped for the away game before coming back in.

Agreed it doesn't help, but Cresswell's been injured, not consistantly in the side.

I really need a slice of whatever you eat regarding United at the minute....:)

To be fair to Cresswell, he's they type of player that represents where the club is at right now. It's not his or Blackwell's fault and it's time the club came clean about the mess we're in, then we can all knuckle down to supporting us through tough times. It's what we're all used to afterall. But more likely we're due another round of BS about how everyone's envious about our set-up. Right before Kilgallon leaves.

Ok mr negativety ,what has he got in common with Horsfield or is it just another opportunity for a cheap shot at everything Utd ?

So you think signing Cresswell is positive!

What has he got in common with Horsefield? well, he's the wrong side of 30, slow, will be on big wages, injury prone................

I hope I'm proved wrong and he leads us to promotion..................
